I was going to give 5 stars until this happened: the bill came, the waitress seemed kind and so I thought I’d tell her to add 10% tip which was around 300 dirhams ($80), she added it and I paid the bill and all was done. Then when my date went to the bathroom, I decided to look at the bill in detail out of curiosity (something didn’t add up in my head) and I noticed there was in fact 50% more alcoholic drinks compared to what I ordered.. I called the waitress to tell her and she said she was “sorry” and that it was a “mistake” and that she will fix it .. when she got the machine to reverse the transaction she put the new amount and immediately added the 10% tip on her own.. At that point i realized it was probably not a “mistake” because there seemed to be a constant need to overcharge.. even when recommending dishes it seemed like the only delicious ones were the caviar and lobster which coincidentally happened to be the most expensive lol.. I’m not a cheapskate I don’t look at that stuff but it’s the principle and thought that counts, I go out 4-5x a week to fine dining in the city so it’s not that I’m looking to be tight, but as I said it’s the idea behind it.. even when I was trying to be nice and generous, which wasn’t deserving. At that moment I didn’t even wanna give 1 cent tip.. but I thought to myself I don’t wanna make a scene especially that I’m inviting someone, let them just take the 300 dirhams if it will do a major change for them however I promised myself that I would never come back or recommend the place to my friends. Anyway, the decor and vibe of the place is nice, same as anywhere else in dubai ..
