Very Disappointing Experience at VOX Gold – Deira City Centre

I visited VOX Cinemas Gold Class at City Centre Deira on 18th February for the 10:15 PM show of O Romeo, and I had a very disappointing experience.

First, I purchased my tickets in cash. After that, I was told I must buy a food package inside. When I went inside VOX Gold, they charged me 92 AED for a snack package that was only 44 AED online. When I questioned the price difference, they said it is more expensive when ordered at the counter. I said okay and paid 92 AED without arguing.

Before paying, I clearly asked if the package includes popcorn and Coke refill. The staff confirmed that refills are included, especially since this is Gold Class and I was already paying for a package.

However, once inside, the experience became worse. I asked a staff member for an extra blanket. He refused and said I only paid for one package so I would get only one blanket. This is very surprising because in VOX Gold, blankets are usually complimentary. He even said I must pay 10 AED extra for another blanket.

Later, when my Coke finished, I asked for a refill as promised. Another staff member came and said I must pay again for Coke. I explained that earlier staff confirmed refills were included. I requested to speak to the manager. The person said he was the manager and refused again. When I told them I would leave a review, they suddenly said they would not charge me if I was unhappy — which clearly shows inconsistency in their statements.

After that, no manager came to clarify anything, and no one followed up.

This entire situation felt unprofessional and misleading. Different staff members gave different information, and it honestly felt like customers are being overcharged or misinformed.

I am writing this review to make people aware and to request proper transparency and training for staff at VOX Gold Deira City Centre. Gold Class should provide premium service, not confusion and discomfort.

Very disappointed.

4 Movie Tickets Cancelled By Vox But NOT Refunded to My Wallet

I booked a ticket (under booking ref# WHSLJ6W). The booking was successful and my credit card was properly charged. However, vox team cancelled my movie and in my vox apps, it show “REFUNDED” as status. However, from May 14, 2025 until today, June 21, 2025 nothing has been credited in my vox credit account. I have paid AED52 x 4 tickets which is AED208 total. After making several calls within 1 week from May 14, 2025, (under ref# 8797213), until now NO REFUND has been made. This is terrible experience. Vox call-center agents kept on making promises that it will get refunded back as vox credit. But until now, I am wasting too much of my time making several calls and follow ups. Vox call center agents located in Egypt kept on making promises that a resolution is underway and that everything will be fixed within 2 days. It have been more that 1 month now and nothing has happened. Vox still keeping the fund and I have strong belief that vox is doing this on purpose. This is fraud and scamming if you look at it in the other side of the spectrum. They will get your money and will try to keep it as long as they can until you become tired of making follow ups. My message to other people, be careful and just beware.

Friendly Staff and Great Experience

The facilities were clean, the picture and sound quality were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was very comfortable. What really stood out was the staff—friendly, helpful, and professional from the moment I walked in. Their warm service really made the experience even better. Kuddos to the great and very accomodating staff of Vox Cinema Nakheel Mall – Regie, Carla and Rico.
Highly recommended!

Highly NOT Recommend

Highly disappointed by the vox cinema customer service experience. It clearly says they will give back vox credits 30 minutes before the show for cancellation whereas that was not the case and they kept on putting it up on the credit card instead of taking the responsibility. As they have clearly received the money from the credit card and surely has to be given back as credit. I was not even asking for a refund it was box credits which were being asked for the tickets purchased. Sorry but they are not professionals at all and I do not recommend them at all. Very bad behaviors. Taking money from the customer and not returning is one of them.
Be mindful in emergencies you cannot refund

Money is not worth paying

I ordered customized fries through noon, how only money waste, its worst then normal French fries the sause was just sprinkled no jalapeños nothing so much dried. If they don’t know how to make they can only just sell normal fries. Complete cheating and scam. Total money waste

Worst VOX GOLD experience

I visited the VOX Gold with my wife in festival city mall and had the worst experience by far. There was no welcome drinks nor dry fruits on entry. The food menu was differrent and only option was either slidders or hotdog as main course which was very dissapointing, we sat in seats C3 & C4 which had minimal leg space and were constantly disturbed by the waiter serving the clients next to us who made us retract our seats upright everytime so he could passby to serve the clustomers next to us. During the movie since they never asked us for time interval between meals, kept serving us before the starter was done and by the time the deserts came our place was filled with trays as they never took the starter or main dish trays which was so dissorganized. The dessert spoon was dirty and had crusted sugar marking on it which we had it changed all this during the movie. Then waiters were roaming around with POS machines billing customers. This is so damaging to VOX brand value and customers.

Never using them again

Terrible experience!!! Never going to VOX again.

6 months ago we went to see Avatar and we were particular to watch it in imax laser 3d. Instead of laser 3d they booked us for 2D. We canceled the tickets and asked to be reimbursed. As we bought 2 popcorn tickets they told us they cannot reimburse us but give us a voucher covering any 2d 3d or imax experience valid for 6 months. We agreed

Just today we went to watch guardians of the galaxy. Unfortunately it was just standard cinema as the imax now only played little mermaid and our vouchers were about to run out. So we were ok give us standard tickets. We picked a seat and the employee behind the ticket counter asked us to pay an addition of 52 dirhams, because the voucher covers only one ticket. I showed him the purchase which was 190 for a laser imax 3d. He called the manager who also said he covered one ticket.

So vox cinema charged us 190 AED six months ago for 2 tickets and in return gave us one standard ticket in worth of 52 AED and we should pay an additional 52AED for the second ticket.

This is terrible customer experience! And we will never go watch a movie through imax again. Great job VOX and MAF! You made 138 AED and lost 2 customers who will also share this experience with friends and other people.

No seating at all before you enter the cinema or near the screen area

I had been to the Vox cinemas City center,Deira on the 27th of Aug 2022 for a movie Thiruchitrambalam at 4:45 pm. we were( self &wife) there at around 3;30 pm. Since I have a health issue and cannot stand for a long time and as no seating was available either at the reception area or near the screen area we approached Mr.Abdullah who was manning the entrance to the screens and explained my situation of not being able to wait by standing there till our show starts. He politely explained the scenario to us of no seating being available either in the reception area or even near the screens, but he did not let it go like that and he took extra efforts and took us one level down where our screen 17 for our movie was located.
He made us sit in an empty cinema where no movie was running at that time screen 20, for the time being for me to be comfortable.
we then moved to our screen 17 as and when the cleaning was done after the previous show got completed.
what a fantastic gesture of kindness from Mr.Abdullah.
My sincere appreciation to this Gentleman for his Sympathy and kindness showed looking at my situation. God bless him and my best wishes to him and the whole team at Vox cinemas.
My only humble suggestion here is, please do provide some seating for the elderly, disabled, and some with health issues like me who may not be able to wait standing all the while till we are allowed inside.
Thanks and best regards

An excellent evening, an excellent movie and excellent staff

My wife and I enjoy the nice things that life provides and we don’t mind paying a fair price. We have just experienced Abu Dhabi, Yas Mall Vox Theatre and it was EXCELLENT.

From the moment we walked in, to the time we left we had a terrific time. A special thanks to Mr. Rohit, who made the evening exceptionally enjoyable with his good manners, attention to detail and the little bits of extra service and advice that were so generously offered. It made all the difference and he is a credit to VOX. Thank you Sir.

The food is well above the standard we have experienced in other quality cinemas. Well done to the Vox chefs. Very tasty, good portions and would leave some restaurants behind.

Oh, and Uncharted was good entertainment as well !! A really good movie, lots of fun and adventure.

We will be back….
