Unexpectedly abd condition

I want to start this review by acknowledging that Myriad is a pretty solid option for those who enrolled and began to live in Dubai only recently, It is simple and has some advantages; however, the overall number of disadvantages is massive.

First of all, it is quite expensive, 3000AED for a double room. It is located far away from a Dubai knowledge park and Dubai itself, meaning that you have to ride on a bus for 1 hour or more to arrive in the city, of course, you can take a taxi but due to the huge distance final bill will be close to 120-160 AED. Because of that, many people decide to leave Myriad after the first Semester because other options are located way closer to the city center and cost the same price area.

Secondly, the overall condition of all facilities is deficient. Busses for residents are old and dirty, and air conditioners inside these buses sometimes are half broken or not working. Rooms haven’t been remounted for a while, when we checked in, we noticed a huge mold spot on top of the shower room. My fridge was quite old and almost broken. After 2 months of barely using it, it broke because the plastic on top of the refrigerator was extremely in bad condition. Walls are thin and any sounds will be very clearly audible. Any sound from the hallway or neighbor’s room will interfere with you, especially if you are living on highly populated floors. The hygienic condition of the floors and other public rooms is extremely low, residents leave their trash and it might stay for weeks. The kitchen utensils that you can see in the photos stayed untouched for months(Nobody was using them, there was a few weeks old bottle of oil that was definitely expired). I must notice that recently they had cleaned my floor from most of the dirt, but this happens so rarely.

Thirdly, Bugs and insects are everywhere. I have noticed bugs in the kitchen. I can’t identify what it is, but I suspect that they might be cockroaches. There are a lot of flies, some of them dead and some alive. Photos cannot show all of them because, in reality, there are way more of them(there are a lot of flies on the streets and fewer inside). My roommate got lice probably because of the huge number of street cats that live in myriad.

Issue number 4, Insulting staff, especially guardsmen. In slight disagreement, they will raise their voice and try to manipulate you to do what they want from you. I was in an argument where the guardsmen tried to get me to sign an agreement that I didn’t know anything about. I said that I refused to sign anything before I knew what I was signing, after that he raised his voice and started repeating that I refused to sign and I would have some problems. He sounded like he was trying to threaten me, he mentioned that there would be consequences.

In addition, many people complaining that management has been falsely charging students but I don’t have any proof, so I can not say much about it

Accomodation

I have no words for the management . How many times they charge student falsely . If you’re normal you’ll definitely become abnormal with severe mental health issues . They are dishonest only asking for false charges and earning money .

The kitchens are full of cockrchsss . The management creates problems for students. Also all good reviews they beg the resident to give a good review and ask
