The Aquila School is an exciting new English curriculum school in Dubai with so much to offer your child. Our experienced and passionate staff are committed to ensuring every child develops a love of learning and acquires the skills and knowledge they need for the future.
The Aquila School opened in September 2018 to serve the growing educational needs of the surrounding communities in Dubailand, and across Dubai. We offer a high quality English curriculum enriched to meet the needs of our culturally diverse community. We cater for children from FS1 to Year 8, and in September 2021 we will expand to offer Year 9.
We’re proud to announce that we were awarded the Best Design Education Project of the Year at the Design Middle East Awards 2018, a testament to the quality and design of The Aquila School’s campus and facilities.
In April 2019, we were graded as outstanding across all areas by British School Overseas.
We are dedicated to delivering amazing learning, to ensure your child makes as much progress as possible. To do this, we are committed to:
Placing children at the heart of everything we do
Empowering children to make decisions about their own learning
Providing an amazing curriculum in English and Arabic
Employing the very best British trained and qualified teachers
Ensuring every child makes as much progress as possible
The Aquila School is the flagship school of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) group, a global network of 48 schools across 13 countries, which ensures outstanding international learning connections, quality assurance and excellent governance. The Aquila School will eventually be a through school, which plans to offer iGCSE at Year 11, and BTEC and IB for Years 12 and 13. BTEC is rare in the UAE and underpins the ethos of the school reflecting children having choices in their learning.
Truly international, The Aquila School is a family of diverse individuals whose collective aim is to build a better world through amazing learning. The power of The Aquila School learning community is achieved by recognising, valuing and connecting the different contributions and talents of all its members. Through an uncompromising balance of individualism and unity we inspire children to find their own unique paths to make a difference.
HAPPY SAFE LEARNING – The Aquila School is a happy community school with amazing learning at its heart where pupils are empowered to make choices, engage in meaningful learning experiences and make exceptional progress.
Did you know? Aquila means flight, constellation and learning, hence our logo incorporating a bird in flight.

As a parent, I’ve had a front-row seat to my son’s journey at Aquila School, from FS2 to Year 3. Unfortunately, I’ve decided it’s time for a change, and I want to share why.
1. At first, the school’s laid-back approach was perfect for my little one, but as he’s grown, I’ve felt the need for more structure. It’s been a bit of a letdown to see the same casual vibe persist.
2. I’ve had a few run-ins with teachers and management that left me feeling frustrated. It seems like issues are handled on a case-by-case basis, without much consistency, transparency or consideration to a parent’s perspective. School policies are used as a convenient escape route whenever a matter escalates.
3. The teachers are definitely a mixed bag – some are absolute gems, while others seem overwhelmed or just not invested. You really hope your kid gets one of the good ones.
4. Let’s not forget the construction chaos around the school. It’s not the school’s fault, but it’s something that makes our daily drop-offs and pick-ups a bit of a challenge.
All in all, I think Aquila’s lost its way a bit. It used to feel like a tight-knit community, but now it feels more like a big business. Maybe I’m just expecting too much, but I want the best for my son.
If you’re thinking about sending your child to Aquila, I hope my experience helps you make a more informed decision.
