A Sophisticated restaurant set within the Souk Al Bahar, the world famous Arabian Souk overlooking the Dubai Fountain, Siraj is a slick addition to the city's vibrant culinary scene.
On February 21st I entered the restaurant around 9:30pm. I was greeted lovely by the hostess and was seated right away to a table outside. My waiter came promptly and took my ordered. I ordered a strawberry shisha right away. My waiter informed me that he would bring out the shisha first. Which was good with me. I also ordered a hazelnut caramel latte & one food item (which I seem to not recall which food item) . I witness two tables that arrived after me receive their shisha & meals before me. Both tables didn’t have a black American sitting at their table. I attempted to discuss this with the waiter. He was very dismissive and aggressive to me. He said “I placed your order for your shisha. After waiting thirty to fourty minutes my hazelnut caramel latte arrived but no shisha. I decided to leave and not wait any longer. When I was walking out of the restaurant distressed. The lovely hostess stop me. She attempted to make the situation right. She got the manager. Who wanted to offered me something for free. Unfortunately the damage was done. It’s sad that I was treated less than tonight by this establishment. Black Americans please don’t go. Dubai has so many welcoming places. One right next door named Zahr El laymoun. Distressed black America!
The staff at the restaurant were very friendly, professional and attentive . The food was absolutely delicious and vibrant (from the starters to the dessert, as well as the drinks). The location is perfect having being close to the Burj Khalifa. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting/living in Dubai.
