I had an absolutely terrible experience with Shift Car Rental, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from this company. I rented a car from them, only to be hit with a baseless AED 1,000 traffic fine for driving in a bus lane—in an area I never even visited! Instead of verifying the fine or at least informing me beforehand, they immediately deducted the amount from my credit card without my consent.
When I reached out to their accounts department, their response was beyond unacceptable. They blatantly dismissed my concerns, saying they have “too many cars” to bother checking with customers before making such deductions. They even told me it was my responsibility to follow up with the authorities. After investigating the matter myself, the concerned authorities confirmed that no such fine existed and advised the rental company to cancel the ticket. Did Shift Car Rental do anything? Absolutely not! They refused to cancel the fine or even acknowledge their mistake, showing complete disregard for customer service.
The same nonsense applies to Salik toll charges. Even after fully paying the charges, you will be bombarded with emails about pending payments. And when you call for clarification, their ridiculous response is: “Please ignore the message if the payment has already been made.” This nonsense continues for months, even after you have returned the car!
Shift Car Rental is a nightmare to deal with—their customer service is a joke, their billing practices are shady, and their accountability is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and find another rental company if you don’t want to deal with unjust charges and frustrating service.

Unprofessional and disappointing service. I experienced extremely poor customer service, especially in the way they communicate. Customer support was unhelpful and dismissive when I reported an issue. I don’t have time to list all the bad experiences here, but they seriously need to improve their customer service management. Those planning to rent from them should be prepared to waste a lot of time resolving issues.

Subscribe Me or Shift Car Rental they are the same company, stay away, do not ever trust this rent a car company. I have a very bad experience with them, they were kept on charging me for violation I was not even aware I did. When I returned the car that I was renting, in one day consecutively they automatically deducted these amount in attached picture in my account without my consent, proper receipt, not even existing in the system and still they didn’t had enough they sent me a fake invoice that I had another violation from Dubai but I don’t even drive to Dubai. Bunch of scammers!!

I was satisfied with their car rental which happens to be their basic job, but they never refunded back my deposit even after waiting for close to 90 days

Un-honest and slow communication when any problems came with the car (of which there were lots with the car they gave me, in awful condition scratched and dented all over and with windscreen wipers that wouldn’t work).

Traffic violation awareness given 6 months after occurrence
Good day,
I would like to inform any potential / current / previous customers of Shift Car Rental to take caution if you are considering entering into a car rental contract with Shift Car rental.
I was a loyal customer of theirs for approximately 4 years. When the time came for me to end my contract with them ( June 2022) they suddenly made an unauthorized deduction of 4453.00 AED from my credit card. When I called to query the deduction I was told it was for a traffic violation. When I asked when the traffic violation had occurred they told me it had occurred in January 2022. When I asked them why they were only making me aware of the violation 6 months later after ending my contract, they said it was because the traffic department had only notified them of the violation 5 months after it had occurred. I proceeded to contact the traffic department to query this information. The traffic department stated that the traffic violation was sent to Shift Car rental shortly after the occurrence ( February 2022.
My grievance with Shift car rental is that they were dishonest and misleading. They, by law should have made me aware of the traffic violation as soon as they were notified. I believe they waited for me to end my contract with them before making me aware of the violation to ensure I remained a customer for as long as possible.
I have concluded that Shift Car Rental is dishonest, misleading and highly unorganized. Please opt to use an additional car rental company if you would appreciate being treated with honesty and integrity.
