Ridiculous customer service, I wanted to speak to customer care agent and I was on hold for more than 30 minutes

Duped into paying for things not wanted.

I went to this shop to buy some products today. Usually in Sephora customers are hounded by sales girls compelling you to buy stuff. I bought two items I wanted and someone quietly slipped two lipstick into my shopping bag. I was called back as I left the shop, accused of shop lifting and threatened. First of all only billed items are put in shopping bag and I left the shop immediately after I paid. I tried explaining and said it must have been a mistake as I have bought items many items from Sephora but the staff were rude and nasty! I did not want the product but was compelled to pay. Looks like this is a new technique adopted by their sales girls so beware of what you have in your bag when you exit Sephora as they slip unbilled items and make you pay. They also forced to give me a copy of my passport saying they needed some ID for god knows what! A humiliating experience and I never expected such a chain to stoop to these levels!
I am definitely going to lodge a complaint with the police tomorrow for harassment! Hope Dubai police take such issues seriously.

Not client-oriented customer service

I received an email about my birthday gift, got excited and really looked forward thinking of how nice of Sephora to make a little surprise for their loyal clients. I went to Dubai Hills mall where I was told that there is no stock. Fine, it happens, but what bothered me is the manner the assistant told me that, like “no stock” and that’s it, she cut the conversation and clearly waited for me to leave. What I would expect from a professional is any suggestion how to solve the issue, but no, the answer was clear and short. So I asked if that’s it or they can suggest any solution. The assistant sighed and said she can register my number and once the stock is there I will receive the call. When she opened a note book to write my number she said irritably: “See how long the list is, so many people”. I felt like I’m adding to her problem. Of course, three weeks later I didn’t receive any call whatsoever.
Second, I had an online order, during which I was asked for some free samples. I ticked “yes”. Guess what? I didn’t get any. So, dear management of Sephora, why do you send emails informing that gift is waiting, why you ask if customer wants to try samples if you are not planning to send them? We are not beggars here, it was entirely your initiative!
But the worst thing is that using application I wrote twice to customer support to point out this issue and didn’t get any reply. No email, no call. Honestly, it’s annoying, I can’t recall any time I was ignored by any customer service of any other shop or service in Dubai. Always, my issues were resolved within day or two. So was really surprised by this attitude from Sephora stuff.

Bad customer experience- first time buyer

Looking at the other reviews, i feel I’m not the only one to be treated shitty way at Sephora-Dubai Hills Mall.

Honestly i never drop that bad reviews and i had the horrible experience at Sephora Dubai Hills malls.

1. One of their girl staffs took me to lancome and showed primer and makeup fixer, when i asked if primer had silicone because i felt it, she clearly had no idea and she doesn’t know how to feel/recognise silicone in products, she said no silicone is not good for skin and this product doesn’t have it. She really needs to be taught about the products she’s promoting. I didn’t take the products because i told her I’m trying shopping from Sephora for the first time and I don’t wanna spend too much, first i wanna try.

2. Then she took me to sephora products and showed me again silicone based products, anyway i wanted to buy a primer , i felt it had silicon but she said no it’s gel based, so I still bought, but again when i told her that I’ve never bought from Sephora, by telling this i was relying on her to show me something that is her recommendation for someone like me.. instead she gave me a very mean and shitty response saying “you’ve never bought from lancom you’ve never bought from Sephora”

I don’t know what was her problem, she wasn’t understanding english or she had problems with first timer.

I bought because i wanted to, i was confused as a first timer but she was no help, she was mean, trying to give me judging looks, i was feeling very uncomfortable and i had the worst first experience at Sephora dubai hills mall. You guys need to work on customer experience.

She was giving me attitude and looks that I’m not going to buy. I hated the experience and Sephora needs to train their staff…

It’s our choice if we buy or we don’t. If we’re first timers or regular. It is mean to make us feel like bullying, shitty and disrespected.

The girl was wearing a turban like scarf on her head. I don’t remember her name but Very bad behaviour.

My message to her is that girl learn about the products you’re selling and pitching it to not have something when it clearly has that content/ingredient in it and go back to the trainings. Learn how to behave with customers, you need to start from basics girls , a lot of training required for you, start with etiquettes, communication, and then may be sales.

One extra star I’m giving for cashier only, even the sales girl at tarte was nice.

1st of all I complained so many time no one proper response
Dubai mall staff stupid and rude attitude

Today I called customer service no one answered 40 minutes call in waiting
Then I called all stores Dubai mall, M City, DCC, FCC MOE no one answered
I want follow my order I ordered yesterday and today as they option same day delivery but they don’t deliver .. I am going vacation I want to inform them but no one answered

Sephora have only name but quality of service zero if higher Management see this review give your staff training how to behavior with customer should not by nationality or colour
Europe staff they are not behavior good at all
Others nationality like some out of UAE speaking Arabic also not good they are behavior not good this review for

Order tracking

This company has no idea what is going on with their orders. Sephora cannot keep track of the orders, there is no system to track the orders and no communication with the delivery company. This company also has no idea about the way their products arrive, eventually. High temperatures impact the products quality, the delivery company does NOT care about the products they are delivering.
Sephora is lying to its customers, promising the order will arrive before 12pm, when in fact the order was not even dispatched.
Very vey disappointed about the online ordering experience. I do not recommend ordering online from Sephora in UAE!

delivery was a nightmare

I ordered the same day delivery service. The item was delivered after a week and my 4 follow ups.
the outsourced delivery company was not attempting to deliver while they were inconsistently with the facts changing the delivery status to “unsuccessfully tried to reach out” to me. Sephora has no process to follow up or to return money for such delays.

Got charged for my order and the order was cancelled

This is a joke ! I’ve been using many platforms and never like that ! I placed the order and was charged for it and the second later my order has been cancelled! I really don’t have time for this!!! Now I have to spend hours of dealing with customer service and investigations instead of enjoying my products that I ordered! If the website have a glitch – then why the payment is going through?

Disgusting people. Awful customer service and general service and products I received from them. Imagine ordering online and getting used and damaged products with no seal on a single product. Apparently Sephora still using MoroccanOil brand to advertise themselves on Google without selling the products in UAE. Super disappointing.

delivery was a nightmare

I ordered the same day delivery service. The item was delivered after a week and my 4 follow ups.
the outsourced delivery company was not attempting to deliver while they were inconsistently with the facts changing the delivery status to “unsuccessfully tried to reach out” to me. Sephora has no process to follow up or to return money for such delays.

Got charged for my order and the order was cancelled

This is a joke ! I’ve been using many platforms and never like that ! I placed the order and was charged for it and the second later my order has been cancelled! I really don’t have time for this!!! Now I have to spend hours of dealing with customer service and investigations instead of enjoying my products that I ordered! If the website have a glitch – then why the payment is going through?

Send you used and damaged products when you order online

Disgusting people. Awful customer service and general service and products I received from them. Imagine ordering online and getting used and damaged products with no seal on a single product. DURING COVID. These people are disgusting, low criminals. How dare they treat customers this way and then cite a 3 day return policy for discounted item. I don’t want your trash products.
