Last Minute Cancellation Due to Technical Error

I booked the 5-day OliOli “Wonder” summer camp for my son on July 5th, expecting him to start tomorrow, July 13th. Today, less than 24 hours before the camp begins, I received a call stating that I had mistakenly selected the 2–5 age group, even though the date of birth I entered clearly showed he is nearly 8.

While I may have misclicked the age group, their booking system has zero validation. It takes a simple lines of code to ensure a entered DOB matches the selected age group basic logic used by every modern booking platform from airlines to local play areas. Instead of catching this over the last week, they waited until the literal last minute to review the form.

To make matters worse, their solutions were completely unacceptable: either let my 8-year-old sit with toddlers, or reschedule to a different date. When I asked for a refund, it was initially refused and only granted after I escalated the issue. The manager defended the situation by claiming the older age group was already fully booked when I registered, which is convenient given that customers have no visibility into their backend capacity.

This experience highlights backward system design and incredibly poor customer handling. If you book here, double-check everything yourself because their system won’t catch errors until it’s too late.

Expensive kids play area with condescending staff

Went to this kids attraction hoping that we would have a fun experience, but found out that only one parent was allowed in with the steep admission price. I decided not to enter the attraction. Furthermore, I was tired waiting in the lobby area coming in from a foreign trip and I dozed off for a short time when seated in the lobby. A security guard came over and told me to go into my car to sleep. I could not add I was dropped along with my family, who had gone inside. I was relegated to walking around the lobby and entry area like a zombie under the distrustful gaze of the Security person. The front desk staff were also very unfriendly when I asked if I could sit in the cafe (where I could get coffee) while my son and spouse in the museum. It is a pity because the concept behind OliOli is great. Just wish the staff were not so judgement and condescending.

The best museum in Dubai is Olioli. Kids will enjoy the creative and educational environment there. They have a variety of galleries and fantastic activities that the children thoroughly liked, as well as a very welcoming and sympathetic staff, notably Alden and Riza. Toodler really enjoys it, so we’re asking fairytale science to bring it back. Godspeed and more strength.
