    Scammed for delivery

    Hi, this car house scammed me for delivery charges without even giving me the car.
    After we exchanged couple of message they said that they charge 500aed deposit for the car on what I said ok I got VISA electron that I usualy use for renting I dont have credit card, is that ok, and they said “yes, sir.” Meaning no problems. When guy came to hotel when he saw VISA electron, after talking to someone on the phone, he said 5.000 aed because it’s not credit card. I told him, showed him the messages, where person didnt say that after I told him I got VISA electron and that I definately wont pay 5.000 aed. He just said “Ok, one second, let me call them”.
    After finishing the call he just hangs me the device for credit card with amount for 100aed NOT SAYING for what it was, so I assume it will be couple of transaction to reach 500aed and than l’ll get my car. After I swiped card for 100aed he just went into car, pull the window down, said you just paid for the delivery and took off with the car. If I knew that ofcourse I wouldnt pay, noone would, you made a mistake you pay for it. After confronting them, they just said you should read “10” pages of terms and conditions, even if I did you told me VISA electron is ok and I’ll have to pay 500aed. Not to mention on arrival he took my card and wanted to look at my card both sides at which point I took it back from him and told him that I will swipe it when needed.

    Cars are ok but got absolutely scammed on deposit refund

    Car rental experience was mostly ok, car was in good condition and price was fair compared to other rentals.
    However they took 500 AED deposit off my Amex and then all hell broke loose. Apparently they were unable to release the deposit and it got processed on my card 2 months after the rental, when I already forgot about the whole thing. Now they can’t refund it via bank transfer and are blaming my bank, even though it is their bank that can’t process it. So will end up getting cash through Western Union and will be probably 10+ GBP down on all the associated FX fees. Just a complete sh*t show, these guys can’t handle payments properly.
