Dubai, as a modern megacity home to residents from almost 200 countries and myriads of world-famous tourist attractions, has also placed a particular emphasis on knowledge-based expansion, where education and educational infrastructures are part and parcel. Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) and Dubai Knowledge Park (DKP), formerly known as Dubai Knowledge Village, serve as two hubs for the universities, colleges, and institutes from every corner of the globe.

In 1995, IAU-UAE Branch, or IAU-Dubai, was one of the early birds to alight on the blossoming tree of higher education provision in Dubai primarily to cater to the educational needs of the vast Iranian expatriate community living in the UAE. The strategic location of Dubai delivers many options for the branch to employ a varied group of international and local adjunct professors, top-notch visiting professors as well as high-caliber researchers as its dynamic academic body.

The Chancellor of the branch, Dr. Rahim Vaseghi, is earnestly and collaboratively leading the branch towards cutting-edge standards in providing and assuring quality higher education. Accredited by Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology (MSRT) as well as Dubai Government’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), IAU-UAE Branch has been striving to provide quality higher education to the candidates in the disciplines of architecture, management, law, and computer science.

Fourteen quality, cost-effective degree programs are being offered at the IAU-Dubai. The medium of instruction at IAU-Dubai is English, and the curricula and syllabi comply with the nationally-approved ones.

At the postgraduate level, 724 dissertations have been defended to date, and the number of papers published by the faculty members and the students of the branch stands at 315.

Over the past few years, 19 international conferences have been held at the branch on themes like information technology, sustainable architecture, clean energy, intelligent decision science, biomedical engineering, e-commerce, and robotic modeling, to name a few.

Situated in Dubai Knowledge Park, IAU-UAE Branch enjoys an immense pool of potentials for the expansion of intermural academic ties and activities with both regional and trans-regional universities and institutions.
