Very poor experience – not recommended

I had a very disappointing experience with Indigo Rent a Car.

I booked a Nissan Kicks by phone after Dwight confirmed that one was available at the Al Quoz branch. When I arrived, the car was not available at all. When I called Dwight and his line manager, Tammy, neither of them apologized. Instead, they argued with me, and an apology was only sent later on WhatsApp after I asked for one.

Despite this, I rented another car. When I got home, I discovered that the seat was full of water, which soaked my clothes while I was preparing for an important work meeting. Even worse, the seat continued leaking water. This shows a complete lack of basic vehicle inspection.

To make matters worse, three days after returning the car, I was charged AED 72 for fuel without any justification or explanation.

Unprofessional staff, poor communication, badly maintained vehicles, and unjustified charges.
I do not recommend this company at all.

My experience serves as a critical warning to the public: Do not deal with Indigo Rent a Car.
Unless you are prepared to document every single interaction from the first second and dissect your contract word-for-word with a legal expert, you are at severe risk. This company operates with a shocking duality: they present a friendly front as a rent-a-car office, but the moment an issue arises—no matter how small, even for a mere AED 100—they instantly transform into a predatory legal firm, weaponizing their “policies” against the very customers they claim to value .
The stark contrast between the good experiences I once had and this profoundly mediocre and dishonest treatment of a trusting client is appalling. You were quick to take my money as a deposit but quicker still to screw me over when your own error needed to be rectified.
This is not customer service; it is a scam disguised as a rental agreement. I will be ensuring my story is shared across all relevant consumer protection platforms and review sites to ensure no one else falls victim to this exploitative behavior.
Consider this not just a complaint, but a testament to your company’s failure.

Not at all happy with their service specially when you have an extension to be done they simply increase the rental cost also they have charged my card for some minimal outstanding which was basically a calculation fault of their staff. How can you charge someones card without their consent? They have saved my card details in their records without my notice. This is extremely unprofessional. Never ever rent a car from them.

Rented for few months and it was OK until I returned and turned out horrible. Lier company, heard a lot of story but did not believe and I found out all feedbacks and story was true as it happened to me.

Lier, to be honest, I swear they are cheater! Never again and I truly regret. This is the biggest mistake in my life that I rented with them (I’m not being exaggerated, but this put my life in Dubai horrible.)

I rented a car for a month and paid for the whole month in advance. I returned the car after 27 days, and the employee confirmed everything was okay without mentioning any fines. the next day the company informed me that it had revised the price, saying I owed double price of the car because I returned the car three days early. They also categorically refused to provide a car for the remaining 3 days to avoid the penalty.
No one informed me about this when I returned the car, and I only found out about the extra charges the next day. The company did not give me the option to either keep the car for three more days or pay a penalty. The employees either intentionally or accidentally hid the fact that there would be extra charges for returning the car early, and the customer support team was unhelpful, just telling me to read the contract. This is how they treat their customers.

My experience with this rent-a-car company was nothing short of a nightmare. Beware of hidden charges, as I ended up with numerous traffic fines that were not clearly communicated during the rental process. It’s disheartening to discover these surprise expenses after returning the vehicle with the HUGE CHARGES plus they include my security deposit CHEQUE. , I encountered a significant number of unexpected traffic fines during my rental period for only 2 months of rent period its a massive fine WAS ACCUMULATED .. They’re excellent in creating lies and cheat the balances. NEVER EVER TRUST THIS RENTAL COMPANY OR ELSE THEY WILL PUT YOU IN BIG TROUBLE!!!!! BE WARE OF THIS COMPANY

Moreover, the company engaged in unethical practices, using my security deposit to manipulate payments and even issuing a fraudulent check. This not only reflects a lack of integrity but also left me dealing with financial repercussions.

I strongly caution anyone considering this rent-a-car service to exercise extreme caution. The hidden fees and fraudulent practices overshadow any convenience the rental might offer, making it an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Indigo rent a car has a simple business model, low prices to attract innocent customers, and once they are trapped, charge them heftily for the reasons unknown or made up. They charge low prices for a reason, their profits are not from rentals but from the made up dents, marks and accidents that they blame on customers.

Once you give them your card details, you are doomed. And they provide no clarity on the deposits or deductions they later do,
and when you ask them, they simply don’t respond! Also they misuse your card details and make deductions from different different accounts, which you even don’t authorise them for. There is no transparency and this company is super shady. Do not make that mistake of renting from them.

Avoid at any cost!

I took a car on rent from Indigo Rent A Car, and had no idea what I was signing up for. When I returned the car, two people came to inspect it in broad daylight, took photos, and told me everything was fine. Then one of them drove away with it, while I was made to sign a hand-back paper, which had no indication of any damage or accident. However, to my horror, after I left they pinned an accident on me which I had absolutely no idea about. I raised a complaint to DED, and told DED that neither any one of the two inspecting people noticed any damage nor did any one of them informed me there in my presence, and that they made me sign a hand-back paper which had no mention of any damage and that DED should ask for that paper as proof, along with the before and after photos of the car. And to my utter shock, Indigo authorities FORGED the documents falsely to show a damage marking on it, and LIED to DED that I was informed at the spot too. When I went to their office to find out what was going on, they had a laid back attitude and no body was available to listen. The person who had taken the car hand back agreed that when I returned the car, there was no damage and that the document he made me sign had no indication of it. Later, someone from their legal team popped in rudely and told him to basically keep quiet, while he displayed a very rude and unprofessional behaviour, showing that he did not give a damn and that I was welcome to do a civil case on them. If I could, I would do a legal case on them for their forgery, and theft. I also asked for a copy of that hand-back doc, and they outrightly refused it, even though they had given a copy of it to a customer in front of me. That proved their forgery, scam and bag of lies. I wish Dubai Police and Customer Protection takes some action against their malpractices or else they will keep stealing money from innocent people!

I rented a car from Indigo on 5th October and returned it on 7th October. I was told verbally that the deposit of 1025 AED would be refunded after 15 days. Today is 28th, and I haven’t received my refund yet. Their RP department keeps sending irritating messages within 48 WORKING HOURS.

It’s been 21 days since I returned the car, and I’m uncertain when I’ll get my money back.

When I returned the car, there was no parking available near office, and I had to call office, the officer came and told me that, since he didn’t have licence and couldn’t drive, he asked me to park in another building’s private parking and pay AED 10.00.

I found it surprising that I had to pay for parking when returning their car for not having their designated parkingspace. Somehow, I left the car to officer on the road and went to their office. I waited nearly 30 minutes to settle my bill, despite there being two other officers present who didn’t acknowledge my presence at all.

Overall, I had a disappointing experience with Indigo Car Rental, and I wouldn’t recommend their service to others.

Normally people’s are not checking that paper when taking the vehicle.but they are charging with that terms and conditions not a rental agreement mentioned charge.

Think twice before you transact with Indig

Please think twice before renting a car with Indigo. They have no trustworthiness whatsoever and will go to great extents to pinch additional charges from you.
Very poor costumer service, didn’t even explain very carefully about the contract, we only took 5 days contract and no one initiate to call if we will extend or no, we pay 125 for delivery and another 125 upon collecting the car.
We got Nissan Sunny car with scratches from them while returning the car, they were trying to charge for all the existing dents on me. Luckily, we had taken pics and showed proof that these were already there and they could not charge me.
This practice is extremely unacceptable. Horrible! Worst! Pathetic! One rating since zero rating is not available. Do not try to rent a car from this company because they will try their best to overcharge you. This practice is extremely unacceptable.

This company is a proper SCAM. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY EVER. I wish I had read all the one star reviews here, they are all right, and I would have save AED 5,000!

The earlier review was posted becuase I was asked to by one of th employees, who is nice, but the company is horrible and it was too soon to realise that.

So I have been renting a car since 2 years now, and they recently charged me AED 5,250 for not taking my car for an oil change in their garage. The most ridiculous fact is that I was given now warning either about the charge or the issue, that if I dont take the car for oil change – I will be charged.

The staff is useless. There is a person named Sharouz, who is responsible for for collection and making follow up calls for the payments. He is the most arrogant guy I have ever met in a company who provides ‘service’ to the customer. The entire staff is just useless as they keep saying everuything is out of their hands and no one is responsible.

This is by far the worst company i have ever delt with un the UAE.

They lie through there teeth without care and good like getting your deposit back. they gave you al kinds of links that lead nowhere and every person you call says its not this number its this number. SHAMBELS !!!!

I told them i would like to complain and they sent me a number which was a pakistani number. they answer the phone but no one even says hello or anything and just waits for you to hang up.
