once you become a member you cannot cancel the membership until you die. They will keep charging your card and when you cancel the card. They will send you logal notice and threats to put a travel ban and take you to the courts. I hope Dubai police or some valid authorities take this matter seriously and shut this shady business operating in Dubai.

Very Bad gym for ever

I strongly advise against joining Gym Nation. They engage in highly unethical practices.

I only attended for three days before discontinuing because they kept pushing for unnecessary additional charges such as personal training. I immediately emailed them to cancel my membership. Despite this, after two years, they suddenly started demanding payments and attempting to blackmail me into paying.

This approach is clearly fraudulent and misleading. Their promises are false, and I urge everyone to avoid signing up with them. Please don’t trust their tactics.

I came here about 2:30, unlike every other time my friend introduced me here, this lady didn’t give me fiancé a 3 days free pass, I stood there waiting and pleading with this very wicked receptionist called Lisa or Lizy philiphino, she is the one on night shift August 15 2025. very wicked I think she is racist because I kept on smiling but she was frowning her face all through, I’m a member here for about 3 months and paying but this lady was so rude to me, even my fiancé was pressed and I gave her my access to go and pee inside and return but this lady wanted to stop her and I told her to try it that I’ll call the police. I’m very disappointed tonight, this lady does not deserve to work for you. I have brought about 5 guys here in the last 3 months and they all are members now paying. The gym won’t accpect cash payment instead a card details and will fool the member to update everything in the system. Carlo the staff promise that membership will be cancel whenever you like to stop just incase. it was so easy to access membership but difficult to cancel, they will deduct automatically on the card even if you comply all requirements. FYI I complain to myself to bur dubai recieption and of a sudden an asian guy his nepali, his claiming his manager but the way he look is not, he is manager ?? but no badge ?? and is telling me sorry we cannot cancel your membership because your reason is not enough as per the system I submitt medical report and increase of rent that’s the reason, all are valid.as per him no because he don’t know how to read. that’s why I found out the he has no reading comprehension . how gym nation has manager like this ???

The Gym has machines. That can be said for all gyms in Dubai. There is nothing else that makes this place appealing. In fact, their staff seem to go out of their way to make you feel like you should not be there at all. There are no payment machines, you can’t have a trial without applying online and booking an appointment, you basically can’t do anything unless you have a plus membership, but the problem is that you don’t find out about this until after they sign you up for a full year telling you that you are allowed all these perks, but then they tell you, oh well you have to pay extra to get them because your current membership does not allow it! Classic bait and switch move. Save your money and your mental health and find a place that is not just interested in signing up as many people as possible without actually giving a damn about their experience! The staff are rude and there is zero accountability for them because you can’t even contact management to complain and there is never a manager on site. Have a problem with account? You are also left hanging because there is no way to talk to them either…unless of course they want money, then you can’t get rid of them….honestly…just don’t bother!

When it comes to cancelling Gym Membership

Hello. I have just joined gym nation. And one of the staff ( I don’t want to take names) subscribed me for a 1 year membership without my consent and without giving me all the details about cancellation. He only informed me that I can cancel anytime I want. It’s just been 15 days and I ended up having a lower back issue upon which I have decided not to continue as I need to rest to get it cured.Upon asking for cancellation they tell me that I have to serve 1 month notice though I have health issues. I have registered for cancellation and still I haven’t heard from them. Justin told me that I can freeze it by paying 50 AED. I mean why should I pay? And all this was not updated to me before joining. They all show the rosy side of the gym but keep you distracted while signing up so that you don’t end up reading the whole terms and conditions. I want to cancel my membership here. I even registered for cancellation and I haven’t received any calls yet. Why are you guys like this? Why you’ll don’t allow people to leave even though they are injured but charge them? How will we workout with an injured back? Will you be responsible Gym Nation if at all I get a permanent injury?
Inspite of even sending an email regarding the same, along with my attachment of medicines as of having lack of mobility, I spoke to a pharmacist on call and got some meds delivered to my place. I can’t really move and go to a doctor as well as I have missed work for this reason. Still Gymnation is being rude and not letting me cancel my membership. And there is no revert from their end, so I can’t help it. The staffs have been really rude on a call and are not really trying to understand my situation and made me cry on a call. The accountant staff are rude and not helpful at all
I am already going through a lot of pain and they still want me to go to a doctor to get a written statement of my injury. Inspite of telling them about my difficulties of moving around. I asked them to come and collect me or help me out to go to the doctor as I need some support in moving. And also pay for my medicines and visit to a clinic. If they are so concern about proofs. Come visit me and see how am I
I am sure when they face the same situation they will know the pain and how you make people cry. I would have loved to attach the chats. As these guys have tendencies of blocking people when you come with your queries too

i was asking the staff member when the membership will end and i told him that its unfair to pay for the freeze and still subscription wont end yet

anyway, the staff member took money twice from a card not associated with this membership and was associated with my old membership because he is working in the accounts team

As per UAE law, this is considered fraud and E-Crime, this has been reported to the police today 2nd of May 2024, with reference number: 224100043593

Staff member name is Daniel Mohamed as per your other staff member i spoke with through whatsapp

Seriously this is the WORST gym i’ve ever been with with the WORST customer care, taking 358 Dirhams today along with 50 Dirhams every month while am already outside UAE for the past 4 Months

Using a card not associated with my membership and was supposed to be canceled membership just because he is working in Accounts department is considered theft which is as well raised as a file through Dubai Police.

I will keep track with Dubai Police for this and i will not let my money just go away like this.

Actually gym is nice. Good location and affordable. But bad experience start when my membership was almost to finish! My last payment was march 11,2024 and i was surprised when i received a message on my phone that was auto debit in my card as monthly payment. I send an email many times but no response from the management.i come to branch to inform my concern. I want to dispute my money back my membership is only 12 months. They explained me that they can’t return my money back other wise i need to use it for 1 months. I explained to them already that my scheduled was the problem by the way for the last 4months of my membership i already busy. There are cheating a people, i registered online and paid first month BY online banking, then i visit the place only once and didnt like, i said to cancel my membership but they dont, they have taken 2 month more from my credit card automatically, i have keep asking to cancel my membership, then i decided to cancel my credit cart, Now after 4 month they send me notice from Preliminary Debt Recovery Legislation, forcing me to pay 973 AED as a Outstanding amount for Gym nation which is i have seen only once in my Life, of course i will not pay single dirhams and i will ask to pay for me back 2 month which they still from me, we are in Dubai, here is strong Government and Rules, i will ask my rights today in Dubai Economic Department, i have saved all messages Between me and Gym nation, i can easily Prove how i been keep asking to cancel my member ship. I had taken a 12 months contract however I didn’t like the gym due to hygiene issues so within a week I asked for cancellation and submitted the request in the app. I didn’t get any reply and after 20 days my payment of debited from my account, so I again sent the request for 4 to 5 times and than I get an email mentioning that I cant cancel the membership unless I fit in their list of cancellation which is being pregnant, falling sick, changing house and it must be out of 30 km from the gym, excuse me what are they thinking while setting the criteria, are these criteria’s approved by the government authorities like DED or consumers protection. I still understand if that particular months payment is taken however I got a second payment debited from my account today even after not using the gym & placing a cancellation request, this is fraud so I want to escalate this matter to the consumer protection, I am placing a review so consumers should be careful before taking the membership.

I had a 1 year membership , I hardly visited 15 days total in 1 year and on the last month I contacted them that I don’t want to renew just to make sure they don’t keep charging as they always do. And sent them as well my new tenancy contract so they can see that I moved from place. So they respond that no matter we have or not your confirmation we still renew without your approval and in order to deactivate have to inform 1 month earlier or you will still be charged no matter membership was 1 year or more or less no matter what agreement you have. So means that membership with them goes forever and don’t be scammed when they offer you 1 year or one month it’s for them forever as long you have attached your card.

But main point is that they charged me one more month which is 13 month and canceled my membership in 11 month and 2 weeks. And on the top they charged me immediately 200 AED as well and saying for violation as I told them that I am going to call back. So they have decided to act as a police and they can charge you for anything they want.

Toxic Bad atmosphere Rude Service

My friend, who is a gym member, had an unpleasant experience this morning. Despite waking up early at 7 am for a nice day at the gym, the receptionist refused entry repeatedly, was rude citing procedures. We tried explaining that this policy makes members appear unwelcoming and negatively impacts referrals. It’s disappointing that the receptionist lacked basic communication skills and customer service etiquette. I regret to say that I can no longer recommend this place to anyone.

Stuff are misleading focused on getting more people .
Toilets need maintenance, also the smell because the lack of maintenance and the cheap materials is so bad it always makes me want to vomit.

Stuff said “ kids are strictly not allowed inside the gym even the lockers place whoops come to collect my belongings from my locker , but at the same time they’re allowing another lady to bring her toddler to the gym and to the classes “ this is so weird “

The water station should be free if they really care about people’s health “ what is someone forgot to bring his money?! Will stay thirsty the rest of the day? This is what happened to me and I was almost falling down because I couldn’t drink water at that time.

You hear of a lot of scams in Dubai but you never expect that to be from a large chain company. It gets way too busy at all times of day because they offer cheap memberships to get you in and then when you try to leave or your contract actually ends, they continue to charge you. They offer you deals to register with no available method to cancel your membership. No means to contact them but through emails which they will never bother to reply to. They charge you without your consent, and you have no way to cancel even if you are not using their services anymore. Very shady and misleading terms that you will have no clue about because no one will explain them to you before registering. No mention of “T&C Applies” in their registration form and clearly no one will ever just go to the T&Cs on any website and read it unless it is clearly stated in the form. Not to mention that T&Cs and forms could be altered in any way they want from their website’s backend at any time. No contract is available to prove that you registered with a 12 months membership as they claim. Plus, I believe anyone should have the right to cancel a service when it is not needed or used anymore and that could come with a cancellation fee but they shouldn’t oblige a person to continuously pay for something that they do not want anymore!
