Unfair Treatment During Driving Test

The RTA final test was very unfair. This was my fifth attempt, and it felt like they were trying to make me make a mistake so they would have an excuse to fail me. The same mistake made by another student in front of me was overlooked, and they passed. You can’t even argue with the RTA examiner. In my last attempt, there were three of us; two students made serious mistakes—I can specify what they were—but they still passed, while I was failed. I’ve even heard that sometimes they fail candidates unnecessarily, even if they are good drivers,

Too long time waiting for class 15 to 20 days

I’m al qouz branch student.. when u fail assaetment or any test school instructor gives u 2 or 4 hours class for learning..

Then u booked for ur class school.u just waiting for 15 to 20 days…….

I know I not good or better drive…..but I try to make best drive one by one step ..🙏🙏

I had a very bad experience with this driving school. My first instructor was very horrible to me and would shout at me when I made a mistake, despite it being my very first time behind the wheel. Instructors have little patience and are not very kind. You are lucky if you find a nice instructor. When I did my smart yard parking test, my examiner was horrible to me and made me cry. She shouted at me when I made mistakes instead of telling me what I could do to fix them. Also, the driving school is way too full so you have to wait for long periods of time to book classes/ tests. Would not recommend at all.

Completely disappointed with EDI

Worst driving school, I am very disappointed with the decision I made to join EDI. it’s been almost 8 months I am still stuck at smart yard test due to the horribly long waiting period. My friends who started driving lessons at the same time as me but in a different institute have already received their license 3 months ago. Super upsetting more than the fear of failing , it’s the fear of not getting a test date or class . Hate it so much , the only nice thing I can say is the instructors are good especially Malinie and Cristina. Very disappointing and demotivating. Please don’t waste your precious time going to EDI look for a driving school that values everyone’s time and money. I leave for university in June and still haven’t received my license, I started trying in September 2022. Disappointing.Demotivating.Disordered.

Mental harassment

Today I write this review with a heavy heart. After failing the school assessment, I went for the extra 4 hours classes with a new teacher as my old teacher was not available. (To protect privacy, I’m not mentioning the name of the teacher). As soon as I entered the car, her comment was a racist one making fun of Indian license holders. And from there started her harassment. Instead of correcting my mistakes she was repeatedly talking of my mistake. At one point she stopped the vehicle and for 20 mins spoke the same thing wasting my time. Another incident was she took me to the stadium roundabout where road work is happening and time wasted in that traffic. Normally none of my other teachers take that route to avoid wasting students learning time. Lastly when I was asking doubts she made it sound like I’m stupid. Mentally I’m affected badly after this situation. Sadly there is no point in talking to customer care. So much money spent only to get harassed. (Note mine was a regular package as I’m an Indian license holder. Almost 8k AED paid). Dubai authorities need to get involved and investigate such behaviours. Along with being a student, we are also consumers. Rude treatment is not going to make us good drivers. Some form of regulation is needed to control the driving school attitude.

Booking the test

I will never recommend EMIRATES DRIVING INSTITUTE to any person who wants to apply for driving license because the staff are not helpful to their students to book their tests in the RTA. I requested Nov 6 for the RTA smart yard test and yet until now they don’t have any updates for the exam,the school always say that their is no update from the RTA but the school will ask you to PAY FOR WEEKENDS SLOTS…so it means to say that they will able to help you only if you are willing to PAY EXTRA!!! Whereas most of the students pay the unlimited package.

Unprofessional and long waiting with lack of instructors

Highly disappointed. Not informed about the 3 weeks waiting time at the registration except mentioned in the confirmation email. Not only that because of the unprofessional girls at the administration desks I was not informed about the absence of my instructor and they made me wonder here and there. After failing one assessment waiting time is too long to book for classes. Because of the worst management good instructors also got into problem. No help for students. Admin girls are sarcastically talking to Customers. I was very much happy about my instructor but now totally broken with the

Why is it always that they have this waiting period of 1 to 2 weeks after that only they will give you schedule! Poor Service ,Long Waiting Period, Lack of Communication from Course Instructors and Incorrect Fine and Marked Absent:

I’m sharing my experience at Emirates Driving Institute-AL QUSAIS, and I’m extremely frustrated. The most pressing issue is the excruciatingly long waiting period, spanning months, to get the next rescheduled class. Attempts to reach the course in-charge have been met with silence.

Additionally, unresolved fine :One of the most concerning incidents occurred when I was wrongly fined and marked absent for a class that I did not attend. Despite my immediate attempt to rectify this error with the course in-charge, the fine has not been refunded, and the incorrect absence mark remains on my record. This raises questions about the accountability and professionalism of your staff. (Though she agreed that once she will get the salary, she will pay this fine as this mistake is from her side but almost 19 days has been passed of THIS month …. maybe she didn’t get the salary yet or she is making excuses.
This level of frustration is unbearable, and I cannot recommend this institute until these issues are urgently resolved. Immediate action is imperative!

Chaotic and inefficient system.

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my experience at EDI. I enrolled in their driving school with high hopes of receiving quality instruction and a smooth learning experience, but unfortunately, my expectations were far from met.

First and foremost, the customer service was abysmal. From the very beginning, it was evident that they had little regard for their students’ concerns or inquiries. Whenever I tried to reach out to their staff for assistance, I was met with unprofessional and dismissive responses. It seemed like they were more interested in rushing through the process rather than ensuring their students’ satisfaction.

Furthermore, the low staff manning at resulted in a severe lack of availability for training schedules. It appears they were severely understaffed, as getting a class booked took an unnecessarily long time. The delays were not only inconvenient but also hindered my progress in obtaining my driver’s license. I was constantly met with excuses and promises that were never fulfilled, further adding to my frustration and disappointment.

Another significant issue I encountered was the excessive delays in scheduling the actual driving classes. It took ages before they were able to book my lessons, and the constant rescheduling only added to the delays. This not only wasted my time but also hindered my ability to learn and progress efficiently. It was evident that proper organization and management were lacking, resulting in a chaotic and inefficient system.

Overall, I cannot recommend EDI to anyone seeking driving lessons. The poor quality of customer service, low staff manning, and prolonged delays in scheduling classes made my experience with them incredibly frustrating and unproductive. I strongly advise potential customers to explore other options and find a driving school that values their time and provides quality service.

Bad Experience

After researching driving institutes in Dubai, we chose Emirates Driving Institute. Unfortunately, we have had a very disappointing experience with EDI and cannot recommend them.

Our son signed up for driving lessons with EDI in March. He completed the online theory and went on to book his driving lessons.

His first 2 lessons (30 min each lesson) were spent with the instructor going through the controls in the car; this seems an excessive amount of time. At the end, when asked to put the gear in drive the car did not move because there was a problem with the engine, which resulted in the car needing to be moved to the repair garage.
During the next 2 lessons the instructor paused the lesson to be able to pray in the mosque, with no additional time added to his lessons for the post time.
After the 5th lesson the instructor informed our son that he was going on holiday, so a new instructor had been assigned
The new instructor’s English was poor. (Despite us requesting lessons in English)
Both instructors use their phones throughout the lessons.
The 2nd instructor gave conflicting instructions to our son about driving, resulting in confusion for him.
The 2nd instructor leaned over our son at the end of a lesson to reverse the car with him sitting at the controls and crashed the car into a parked car behind.
Last week, our son took his first driving test, he arrived 15 min early as instructed and was kept waiting 30 mins. He was informed they had had to make a change to an instructor as the examiner was not there.
The instructor immediately started to inform our son of violations he was making that he has not once been told about by either of the two previous instructors.
As a result, he failed the test and has been advised to book 4 more lessons and another test at a cost to him of around 700 AED.
Our son asked to speak to a supervisor immediately after the test, who was quite patronising to him and ended by saying they will look into this. Not sure how or when we can expect to hear back.
I emailed EDI a week ago to complain about the above, and to give them the opportunity to respond. They initially replied to say that ‘our complaint request has been escalated to the relevant department they will check, and you will receive the final confirmation from the concerned department regarding the same.’ We have still not heard anything.

Non Client Oriented Organization | completely incompetent

This is hands down the worst customer experience I have had during my 6 years in the UAE. There are many issues however the tangible ones are below:

1. Scheduling is inefficient and takes alot of time 10-15 days waiting period to accomplish anything, elongates overall time for process.
2.Process designed to extract money from customers
3.Sessions get cancelled without prior notice
4.Staff are rude and unprofessional
5.Staff seem to be under the assumption that they are the RTA
6. Have been told multiple times when I noted that service is below expectations that there is a more expensive package so I should not expect much
7. Call center staff took my number and called to have a fight with me

So i opened my file in emirates driving institute 16th if march 2023. Within a week i had completed my theory classes and the theory test, and on the 24th of march 2023 i had requested for my practical classes begin to which i was informed that there is a waiting period for 2 weeks (which i had been assured while enrolling that there will not be a waiting period of more than 2 weeks) now its been 18 days and when i go back to the person who enrolled me (with big promises) has no idea when will the classes begin and has asked me to contact their customer sevice. Now upon calling customer service they also have no idea as to when my classes will begin. Now my question to edi is that is this the correct way of treating your customers? By just keeping them blind? Being one of the most reputed institute of UAE this how your customers service is? Making big peomises when enrolling taking the full amount and having 0 clarity for customers? I want to know that why there is not a direct reach to the classes coordinator? Why can’t we just have a clear information as to when will the classes begin? Wouldn’t it be simple if we can call the coordinator and just get to know after how many people is our queue and how much time it will take? I would request you to please atleast not lie during the enrollment time and give accurate information to the customer at that point only so that its easier to decide for the customers weather to go ahead or not. And now if anyone asks me about this institute i will for sure not recommend it! And its just because of you dishonesty untrustworthy unprofessional and disappointing customer service.

Accident at EDI while taking class

Very disappointing to hear that your staff who is responsible for my accident is still teaching in your school and I have not been called single time by your team- they never inquired about my health and recovery and the teacher by the name Miss. Aisha,so un-professional,its because of her negligence I am suffering from Paralysis and still not recovered fully. Its been 4 months now- I keep renewing my learning license as Im not continuing my classes any more. Im scared to death to go to EDI. I had the accident on 9th Aug and hats off to EDI that they are not even bothered to do any thing about the whole situation I have gone through because of their staff. The staff who has an ongoing police case is still teaching driving. I am investing so much money on the treatment since Aug, paid so much to EDI thinking that its the best institute in UAE but still could not get the license as this incident has turned my life upside down.
So so disappointed today after knowing that this teacher is still the employee of the school. Its seems like EdI is not concern about their students who invested around 10K Aed up till now and get nothing on the other hand the staff who is culprit is leading a normal life, doing her job and institute has fully supported her all this while and have not come back to me single time for apology, compensation or any sort of consideration.

Basically a scam

This is not a driving school, it’s a scam to take money from clients. The whole procedure is set up to continually fail the students (even for faults they do not commit) so that more and more fees can be charged. I enrolled a worker and after six months EDI just kept failing her. In the end she had to leave the UAE without a licence. The whole thing is a joke and ought not to be allowed to operate. Avoid it at all costs.

If the process ends in 3 weeks you may need 4 months or more to follow you with them! Each stage you will need to book a new course, this course cannot be scheduled by their customer service (good luck reaching one of them)who is totally useless! The only thing they can do is to request someone to call you back to schedule the course within 15 days!!!(which isn’t going to happen) However, if you visit there place you will book within two days!
The new level now, I’m waiting for almost 20 days! I’ve called several times with no schedule yet. So, I went to their location to book my last course, the one in there said he will call on Sunday to confirm it! I got nothing till now. You will waste your time even if your courses are not that lengthy.

I request for my final road test class on the 19th of June I have been waiting for my last highway class and it’s been more than 16 days and the service team keeps lying to me. Worst experice ever

I keep on calling the institute call center but they don’t seem to be interested in redressing any of the customer concerns. They are just saying it is under process, it is under process. It is one of the horrible customer service industries I have encountered in the UAE.

Even though I have tried their online platform, have got no words to describe how useless and unfriendly the platform is.

I have tried to reach out to them on their number and went there by myself also, have written them mail but my requests have been royally ignored. I have been left with no option but to find new ways to complain and hope they listen to me. I hope and pray they will address my concern via this platform.

I have been waiting for my last highway class and it’s been more than 17 days and the service team keeps bullshitting me. They are saying you will get a call tomorrow and it’s the 7th day they are dragging my last class. Only they are prioritizing platinum users as our money is useless. I was hoping this institute will help me get my license. But as all are doing business they are also just snatching people’s money.

I will strongly against referring to this institute.

Training / Classes Scheduling, Duping clients via misinformation or concealing facts

I am a student of Emirates Driving Institute (EDI) Al Quoz Branch. I cleared my Initial/Internal Driving Assessment on 28th April and I raised a request on the same day bearing the request number 22671422. While booking the request, it was informed you will receive a call within 4 days.

Thereafter my class for Internal Yard was finally scheduled after more than a month on 2nd June 2022 and i appeared for my Internal Yard Assessment exams on 03rd June 2022 wherein i cleared 4 out of 5. Thereafter, on the same day i raised a request to schedule my class. I tried to explain them that please don’t delay it as the gap will not be helpful for me while appearing for my RTA exams. I have been following up with them twice a week and they keep on changing their stance. Initially they say, you will receive the call within 7 days, then when you follow up on 8th day they say you will receive call within 10 days. Same way, the last i heard it was around 20 days one has to wait.

I paid a lumpsum amount of approx. AED 7000. While paying the amount and while joining, it was informed to us there will be waiting for 2-4 weeks initially, but once onboarded and your class starts, there will not be any delay and it will be a smooth ride. So I don’t understand why there is a delay of more than a week? The ideal turnaround time to obtain the Driving License said while joining was will be 4-5 months. In worst case, it will go upto 6 months.
Giving a week break is not beneficial to the student’s confidence and institute too, as it will take more of your classes if the student keeps failing.

With other institute, the preference is given to lumpsum payee whereas in EDI, they are put on hold… My friend is registered with EDI Al Qusais, we started the classes at the same time but he has cleared his RTA Parking and is now waiting for the RTA Final Test.. He also failed thrice in internal, thrice in internal parking and twice in RTA Parking and once failed in RTA Final Test whereas with me, i am still trying to get class for the Internal Parking and have just cleared 1st stage.
Also, for a small center like Al Quoz, there are far more students than the place can hold. It is evident from the lead time it takes for any student in scheduling classes OR to book a test whether it is parking or Internal or Road Test. If they don’t have capacity to handle that many students, they should increase the waiting period of new students and try to clear the existing students.

I keep on calling the institute call center but they don’t seem to be interested in redressing any of the customer concern. They are just saying it is under process , it is under process. It is one of the horrible customer service industry i have encountered in UAE.

Even i have tried their online platform, have got no words to describe how useless and unfriendly the platform it is.

I have tried to reach out to them on their number, have written them mail but my requests have been royally ignored. I have been left with no option then to find a new ways to complaint and hope they listen to me. I hope and pray they will address my concern via this platform.

They promised one thing but they deliver another. Purposefully extending your course duration to charge more. Unprofessional and rude response from staff members. Takes forever to attend customer calls.

UTTER WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY

I recently registered with EDI for unlimited package for 8000/- AED. They also mentioned that after every 3 months there will be additional charges.

Before registration it was mentioned that there will be a week gap between theory classes and practical classes and the entire duration of the course will be around 3 to 4 months maximum (if you didn’t fail or miss out classes)

But after payment and registration their schedule has changed completely. They said it’ll take minimum of 5 weeks time to get appointment for theory test. Somehow I managed to clear of the test on time.

After the theory test results, it was difficult even to get guidance from their staff on what’s the further procedure (each one gives a different answer).

It’s been more than 3 weeks since I got my theory results and I have been following up with them for my driving classes. When enquired they are stating that they can schedule only after 3 more weeks (totally making 6 weeks of gap between my classes).

And my course duration will be extended for more than 5 months, they’ll be charging me for the same as well.

If you plan on getting UAE driving license please find a better institute.

Class scheduling is unreliable and staff are not helpful

The scheduling is very bad with EXTREMELY LONG waiting periods. Been almost ten months and im still not done with my license process. Every waiting period is a minimum of 15-20 days. And your file is due for renewal every three months. Do not recommend. The call center staff have a fixed script no amount of calls will change their response.
My first instructor was terrible. Did not help with anything in terms of how to approach your driving test.

Very very poor service at Maisen and Al Quoz!!!! Who is working and has the politeness to answer my question….

Poor service for us. I rarely met such a bad customer service in Dubai. First my son was trying to book his evening lesson at Maisen with Mr Asef. But he could not. His attitude was really a mix of boredom, inefficiency and no willingness to help or to be useful. I was very chocked by the way he handled everything and I told him I would report him to customer service. He did not care at all. That means he is doing the same thing with a lot of customers.
I tried to called Al quoz nobody never answer the phone. I used messenger but the answers were useless. My question is WHEN is His EVENNING LESsON!!!
IS THERE anybody WORKING in EDI!!!!

Awful waiting period to get classes

A very disappointing experience with EDI. Wait for 4 weeks for your class to start after registration. Initial classes went on very smooth. After assessment, you need to wait for classes for ages.Initial was a week waiting which become 2 weeks in due time and now it’s never ending waiting time. Really frustrating with no assurance of getting a class. The call centre takes a long time to receive a call and never gets back with a response. Need to follow up multiple times with no positive response. Waste of your time and money. Joined the institute as it was mentioned to be a reputed and organized one but this was totally wrong.Would never recommend anyone to join here. Very unprofessional behavior from such a reputed institute.

Training at Emirates Driving Institute

To begin with, have to wait for at least a month or 2 for your file to open. By the time you finish your training, permit already is nearing its expiry so have to pay for that due to the high waiting time. Secondly, its highly unorganised or non-managed driving insstitute. You have to wait for eternity to get the call from them for the classes and when you call the customer care number the only standard reply you get from them is “you will get a call from our side in maximum 2 days”. But those 2 days gets easily converted into 2 months despite several followups. The staff in the institute is totally unprofessional and are not at all helpful. Would never recommend someone to go for EDI and waste time, money nd energy for highly unprofessional and unhelpful people seated in EDI. Totally disappointing experience and will rate negative and not even zero.

It’s even funny wasting my time on this EDI. The whole idea of scheduling a class is ridiculous n a sham with uncouth people fronting the business as customer service with zero clue of the entire business they represent. I walked personally under the scorching sun to pay for a service with my own money I’ve laboured for through sweat n blood, only to be delayed with constant disappointments. I failed an internal yard test on 27th Feb 2022, wasted my call credit (not toll free) to call these supposed customer service to reschedule just an hour session of the same class because my learners permit was due in 24th March and was told someone will contact me after 10 days. This call never came to pass until 21st March 2022 after wasting my time for 21 days. When they finally scheduled me, I couldn’t make it because of work, instantly they called to say I need to pay 126 AED for missing an hour session and 146 AED to RTA to renew my learners permit, despite the 21 days I’ve waited for their call. I accepted to pay and again, was informed that someone will contact me after 7 days. You know what, now that I know you want to ‘milk’ money from people for unjust reasons, I will never waste anymore of my time on you….call me whenever you are bored or have nothing to do to book my classes….I paid you money for a service so I will not come crawling to you for bookings. You are a disappointment.

PS: the preferred language I selected was English so let the fluent ones call me.

I had my driving licence from EDI by mistake, I would never advise any of my friends to go to EDI for a driving license, and I will try to spread this to the whole UAE as much as I can. They are making fake promises and not caring about customers’ requests and feelings. Not a single time, I faced unlimited problems having my classes scheduled or even visiting EDI during my office timings, but all went in vain. They do deserve any star or appreciation, highly pathetic institute
