Dubai Police College was established in the year 1987 under Law No. (1) of 1987 AD. The study officially began on the nineteenth of September 1987, starting from the Police Training School of the Emergency Department at the time, until the Academy building was completed in its current form. The basic structure of the college was completed in October of 1988 when Resolution No. (1) of 1988 was issued regarding the internal regulations of the Police College, and the college was officially inaugurated on April 1, 1989.

The college received students from the GCC countries in the academic year 88/89, and students from some Arab countries such as the Yemeni Arab Republic and the Palestinian Authority were accepted in the academic year 97/96 AD, and the college celebrated the graduation of the first batch of nominated officers and full-time officers who obtained a bachelor’s degree.
