Very concerning experience with Dollar Rent A Car.

After losing my job due to the recent war-related situation, I proactively informed the company with supporting proof and requested reasonable consideration. Despite this, no flexibility, deferment, or alternative solution was offered.

Even after offering to return the vehicle voluntarily to limit further liability, I was informed that full outstanding amounts plus several months of early termination charges would still be enforced.

This approach appears to prioritize strict contractual enforcement over any form of customer support, even in exceptional and widely impacted circumstances.

I would strongly recommend that potential customers review all terms very carefully, particularly around early termination and liability, as there seems to be little room for accommodation even in genuine hardship cases.

Worst car rental company in Dubai

Worst car rental company in Dubai. The staff are unprofessional with a very bad attitude. I have been living in Dubai for over 20 years and rented cars many times, but this is the first and last time I will ever deal with Dollar.

I don’t understand how they are still operating, as their service damages the reputation of Dubai. They are only chasing clients for money. At the beginning, they give many promises, but once they finalize the deal and take the payment, all those promises disappear.

I strongly do not recommend anyone to trust this company or rent a car from them.

Worst car rental agency ive ever dealt with ! We had extra kms on the car upon return and i had asked a discount in the email
Communication since we were renting for more than a year ! No one ever replied and suddenly after 2 weeks they take the money from my credit card without informing or giving me the chance to even pay by sending a proper link for payment . I called and complained and they said theyll get back to me in the afternoon ot mext day morning and till now i havent received any update from anyone and been trying to call them for several days with no answer at all . I also sent an email no one ever replied to the email . They have the worst customer service and they’re only after money !

Account Manager behaviour on long leash from Dollar –

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dollar Car Rental Dubai, particularly due to the deceitful and unprofessional behavior of the account manager named Loveness, handling my long-term lease. She twisted my words to serve her own interests, making it appear as if I was at fault. This not only led to a frustrating experience with the car itself but also with the company as a whole.

Despite renting from Dollar for nearly a year, the treatment I received was unacceptable. The account manager failed to give the correct information to management as we discussed over the phone, instead altering the terms to suit her own narrative. Such dishonesty and lack of integrity in customer service are unacceptable.

Dollar treats customers like just another number, with no regard for value or satisfaction. I would strongly advise against renting from this company, as the experience was nothing short of terrible.

Will not service dangerous car

My Partner has been renting a car off dollar car rental for about 2 months now. When her and I collected the car from the company I inspected the car for damage and pointed out damage on the front wing and that the tires where in very poor condition and needed to be changed as they were unsafe. 2 weeks ago, the company went to pick up the car but refused claiming the damage that was on the front wing was caused by my partner even though I had pointed out the damage to the employee handing over the vehicle. they are now refusing to change the tires leaving my partner with little option but to drive a car with unsafe transport as she has no other access to her workplace. The management of the company have been extremely unhelpful and have left my partner in tears several times over the course of the last 2 week. They are trying to force her to report it to the police and pay for the damage that was already existing on the car. I find the customer service and attitude of the employees of this company to be wholly unacceptable. I would highly recommend not using this company it seems to only care about scamming its customers out of money and not working with them to find a solution.

Very bad rent a car, they charged me 1050 for one small scratch and one plastic out(not broken)

Cars not serviced and bad customer support

I have rented with Dollar Car Rental for 2 months and have had 2 cars breaking down and it is a hazzle to get a replacement. And their support phone line is sometimes not working because they are busy and there online service chat keeps you waiting for 30-40 min. Terrible service and cars in bad condition.

I gave 1 star because I could’t give 0. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company.

1. I payed full insurance and wrote to them ahead that I have a Company debit card on my name that I use and said it was ok since it was on my name. At the counter they charged me 5000 aed for deposit because it not a company credit card. Even tho I had full insurance :)
2. I reserved also a baby seat and at the counter they said they have available just one that was smaller than it was legal for my baby. I said I want to cancel the reservation and they said I will lose the reservation money and the deposit of 5000 aed will be returned to me in 2 months so I was forced to take that baby seat or start my holiday 2000 euro poorer
3. When I returned the car they found a small scratch on the tyre and the rim and said that is payed extra since my FULL INSURANCE didn’t cover it :). I asked for the pictures taken when I took the car so I can make sure it was not there already and they refused saying they were bad quality and I couldn’t tell.

So, DOLLARUAE is just a scam doing all they can to rip you off :)

Worse customer service

The cars are great; clean and reliable. However their customer service is the worse I’ve ever experienced in Dubai. I’ve rented the car couple of times and almost always they are late when picking up the car. Every time u call to inform the call center about the tardiness they don’t seem to care. Once they said “give us an hour” and someone will reach out to you. The other time the phone line was cut but no one bothered to call back . The only thing worse than their call center is their responses to your after derive survey; I’ve mentioned my dissatisfaction with while replying to their survey and all I get back is a generic response on how someone will reach out to me… I’m still waiting that response . I highly recommend using another rental company.

their credit card machine kept failing!!

and there was specific guy he was so rude with me ( tall guy with big mustache).

I contacted Dollar International but they answered me that told me they are only concerned with US lands !!!!! how crappy!

Never ever get a car from them. I can’t believe their customer service. I returned the car and she did not do my paper work and left the station and never came back. I have to spend my vacation to find out what should I do about the car. I rented a car from airport that was cheap , 240$ for a week. But it smelled heavy smoking and I had to return it after three days. I can not describe how disappointed I am .

Withholding a Security Deposit
Please be careful about the Terms and Conditions attached when renting with Dollar Cars UAE. They do not advise you in advance about the terms for use of a debit card. You may not see your security deposit returned, in my case 3000 Dhs, for up to 45 days. That is a Dollar Cars UAE debt to the consumer. They hide behind their terms but this is an unacceptable arrangement. Why are they not returning their consumer funds immediately? It has been reported to the Dubai authorities.

I have a negative experience
I have a negative experience of interaction with this company. While in the UAE, I placed an order for car rental on the company’s website on 25.02.2022 for a total amount of 3345.30 AED (approximately 900 USD). I made an advance payment, as suggested on the website. After placing the order, the company called me and informed me that the driver’s license attached to the order could not be accepted.
There was no pre-moderation when placing the order. The order eventually had to be canceled. I was promised a refund within 2 weeks. It’s been 3 weeks. The money was not returned, the letters are not answered. It seems that this company decided to appropriate my money for an order that it did not fulfill.
And apparently this company believes that the company’s reputation is worth less than a thousand dollars or so.

Worst rental service, I rent a car and the firm overprice me in the homepage the price is excluded vat , and when I chose a car the agent took 300aed more of the price on the homepage. After an a hour the car start to shake , I called them and rhey promise to change the car, after 5 hours when I call the back the promise to change in next morning and nothing happened. I rent the car for week and used it for just 3hours. And now the whant retur the cost. BE VERY CARFULL THE DOLLAR RWNT CAR IN AIRPORT TERMINAL 3.
