Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable experience with Carasti.

More than one year after renting a vehicle from them, and for the second time, I suddenly received a threatening email demanding payment for a traffic fine allegedly linked to “my” car subscription. The problem is very simple: the vehicle in question had been rented by another driver long after my rental period had ended.
Despite this obvious fact, Carasti still sent a billing notification and an invoice demand as if I were responsible. No verification. No basic check of their own records. Just an automated payment demand sent to the wrong person.
This is now the second time Carasti has contacted me regarding issues completely unrelated to my rental period. Being chased for fines and threatened of additional fees caused by other drivers more than a year later is not only incompetent, it is completely unacceptable.
Only after I strongly challenged them did they suddenly “review the account” and quietly admit that the invoice had been removed and that no charge would be made. In other words, they sent the accusation first and verified the facts afterwards.
This raises serious concerns about how their billing system works and how many other customers may be receiving incorrect payment demands without questioning them.
When a company handles vehicles, fines, and financial charges, basic record verification should be the absolute minimum standard. Apparently, that standard is not met here.
Sending threatening payment notifications to the wrong person more than a year later shows a shocking lack of internal control and respect for customers.

Unresolved Billing Dispute and Poor Customer Support

I rented a car from Carasti and was later sent multiple invoices that appeared to cover the same rental period, with charges that did not apply to me. I repeatedly requested original invoices with supporting documentation, which they promised but never provided.

The only valid charge was settled in full, yet instead of resolving the matter, they escalated the disputed amount to a debt collection agency. This was both premature and unprofessional.

My experience with Carasti has been frustrating due to the lack of transparency, poor communication, and failure to address legitimate concerns. I cannot recommend their services until they improve their billing accuracy, accountability, and customer support.

Urgent Complaint Regarding Withheld Funds, Discriminatory Treatment

I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint regarding the unacceptable treatment I have received from your company over the past 18 days, which has caused me significant distress, financial inconvenience, and emotional strain.

You are unlawfully holding an amount of 3,436 AED that should have been released four days ago, in accordance with the standard bank authorization period. Despite multiple confirmations from my bank that this amount is no longer authorized to be held, your team continues to ignore all factual evidence and standard banking procedures.

The bank has contacted you directly, informing you that you have exceeded the holding period and confirming that your system still reflects the hold. Despite receiving the authorization code and confirmation from the bank, your staff has refused to cooperate. The bank has explicitly stated that your merchant team is uncooperative.

Furthermore, you demanded my official bank statement, which is illegal and a breach of my financial privacy. It is widely known that UAE banks do not issue official emails to third parties in such matters, and your insistence on this requirement appears to be a clear attempt to avoid accountability.

To make matters worse, this is not the first time I have experienced such behavior from your finance department. Unfortunately, this is the third occurrence, which points to a pattern of neglect and mistreatment rather than an isolated incident.

Your continued refusal to acknowledge your responsibility and release the funds constitutes discrimination, harassment, and unethical business conduct.

I demand the immediate release of the 3,436 AED and a formal written apology for the repeated distress caused. If this matter is not resolved within 24 hours, I will escalate the issue to the following entities:
• The UAE Consumer Protection Department
• The Central Bank of the UAE
• Legal authorities and relevant public platforms

I would prefer an amicable resolution but will not hesitate to take appropriate action if necessary.

Abused by this car company

Customer services is unreliable and incompetent to say the least! I started a rental with Carasti 6 months ago, they offered a range of cars that I was familiar with and since I was new in Dubai, I went with them, not because they were cheaper than other companies (because they are not!). Anyways, my renewal date was coming and for 2 weeks, I was going back and forth with Erika and Maria, 2 of their agents, and very specific things were agreed, in writing (text messages and whatsapp conversations). Yesterday I had 5 days left with the old car and since I am going back home for 2 weeks, I suggested that we do the car swap yesterday (knowing I was losing 5 days of paid lease). My ONLY request was that they debit my card on the 30th after I get my salary. At 8 pm yesterday i got a notification from my bank saying they had taken the money already. They have done this without my authorisation, they have done this knowing I was still paying for one car, they have done this knowing I did not have the money on my account. I am appalled. I have tried to email, message, call them and of course, no one cares, no one answers, I can’t even give them their car back and get my money back. This company is a fraud and I would not recommend it. I feel really insulted and mislead by this company and I really hope they do not do this to other customers. I am a single working mom and I really did not need this in my life right now. 1999 AED might seem like nothing to them but for me it is a lot of money.

avoid at all costs

If i could give zero stars i would,
starting the subscription is very easy however ending it is an entirely different matter. I have paid all fees requested by the company, the penalty for ending the subscription sooner, fines that i suspect are not actually real as i was only provided with there company’s invoice not the original fine receipts from the appropriate agency’s/government. I believe they have over priced the superficial damage, some scratches that could easily be buffed out or sanded and painted. Thousands and thousands of dirham i have had to pay because if not you will be threatened with legal action. I initially asked them to take the damage costs out of my deposit as after all that is what a deposit is for but they refused and said i needed to pay now and my deposit would be released to me 30 day after i returned the car. After all of this they have refused to return my initial deposit i paid when starting the subscription. They are very quick to contact when they require fees to be paid but are not responsive, and i have had to send follow up emails to get a reply. When i have called to speak to the appropriate department i have been told they have gone home early and when i called again to try a different department the phone was left calling even though they were still within there opening hours. They asked me what the reason was i was ending the subscription and i foolishly told the truth and said i was leaving the country. It is my belief they have taken advantage of that fact i am no longer in the UAE to confront them and would highly recommend you do not give any business to this company. There are other companies my friends have you used that do not require a deposit and have been fair with the return process. Do your research before you choose a company, that is what i wish i had done. Instead i subscribed with this company when i was new to the country and was told about them early in my stay in the UAE. In all honestly if you can afford to get a loan and buy a car i would, it would be much less stressful than the dealings i have had with this company. I have never written a bad dubai review but i feel i must warn you about this company.

4 Star overall but…….

Overall I give these guys 4 stars, everyone is super friendly and chill, the car selection and service is great.
The only downside I would say is the application is often just a black hole – you put a query through it sometimes it disappears into the ether. It would be better for example if an accident notification, report upload etc (which you do through the application) is coupled with an email confirmation for you to follow up. I had a minor bump in April, still it hasn’t been fixed in November despite several follow ups but still I’m paying full price subscription to drive around in a damaged car. The whole point of digitalization is to lessen the customer effort but if you have to follow up anyway with emails and calls then what’s the point.

Overall a great service, just a couple of minor issues could be ironed out it would be amazing.

Coming to the subscription, it’s not a particularly bad thing but strictly speaking it’s not a monthly subscription, it’s a 30 day subscription so your monthly sub is debited a day in advance month on month. Consider this before you commence the contract if it’s important to you that the payment is done after a particular date i.e salary day – start the contract minimum 12 days later so the payment dates can creep forward without any issue over the contract period.

Pay for Everything

Initially it was the best as they really had no to lowest deposit. Then they started with the same amount of rent.
As customers we do feel that leasing is more convenient than owning. Carasti proves you wrong. I can still digest on their admin fees for EVERYTHING from salik to fines etc.
The MAIN THING- they give you 80 kms per day (2500 km) per month. AN AWESOME WAY TO EARN MONEY FROM PEOPLE EACH YEAR EASILY 10,000 minimum. It’s like a total scam. Ofcourse it’s written in their terms and conditions. But when you actually go out to the market like Self Drive etc. we know that these companies give us 4500-5000 kms to drive at the same rent or lesser. Their collections team are the most rude people you’ll ever encounter. For everything they’ll immediately mail you threatening “we’ll immobilize the car you currently using”. No manners and decency to speak with old customers. Wants to earn in everything. Complete cheaters. 80 kms are not even enough to drive from work to home each day.

Horrible and the biggest mistake of mine to be working with them.

French friends and other peoples of the world, this agency is a scam, once the vehicle is returned, it will find all the reasons to charge you. During the observation, we noticed a cigarette hole on the driver’s front passenger seat, We had pointed it out so soon and we took exterior interior photos of the vehicle in the presence of the agent who is also visible in the photos, we then sent the whole thing to the agency’s Commercial Contact in order to complete the report. He reassured us that there was no problem. A few months later after relocating the vehicle, the agency resurfaced and charged us a whole bunch of costs for the cigarette hole, yet we have all the evidence can I send the photos on whatsApp, it there is therefore proof via the date and time that the hole was indeed present before starting the rental, while specifying that we are non-smokers, but the agency pretends not to understand and continues to take. We have filed an opposition and are awaiting your return to Dubai to lodge a complaint.
A priori we are not the only ones, this agency takes advantage of the fact that we are foreigners and waits for our departure from Dubai to start charging additional fees. Run away, this agency is dishonest and will try to charge you hidden fees as soon as the opportunity arises.
