I would like to sincerely thank my driving instructor, Ms. Flavia Gonsalves, whom I fondly call Mama, for being such an incredible instructor, mentor, and an important part of my driving journey.

When I first started my driving lessons, I was assigned to a male instructor at the Al Qusais branch, and unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. As a first-time driver, I felt that I was not being taught in a way that helped me properly understand driving, so I decided to submit a report and email the school to request a reassignment to an instructor who could teach me properly and help me build a strong foundation and understanding of driving.

That was when I was assigned to Mama Flavia, and immediately, I knew the difference.

She is truly in a different calibre. She has a very strong presence that naturally makes you stay focused, attentive, and engaged throughout every lesson. From the very beginning, I could feel how passionate and dedicated she is to teaching her students.

What makes her teaching style truly unique is how she combines theory with practical lessons. She requires her students to bring a notebook to every class, and she meticulously writes down instructions, draws diagrams, and explains different situations so that I can visualize and understand everything much better. This approach has helped me tremendously, especially as someone who was completely new to driving.

Mama Flavia does not simply teach you how to drive. She teaches you how to understand driving. She teaches you to be aware, responsible, disciplined, confident, and focused. Every lesson with her has been an opportunity to learn something new.

And beyond driving, she has also taught me so many valuable life lessons that I know I will carry with me forever. Her words, advice, discipline, and encouragement have made an impact on me far beyond the driving school.

I am truly, truly grateful to have been reassigned to Mama Flavia. What started as a very difficult experience turned into one of the most meaningful learning journeys for me because I was fortunate enough to meet an instructor who genuinely cares about her students and takes her responsibility as a teacher seriously.

Mama Flavia deserves all the best that the school can offer to its best employees, because she rightfully deserves it. Is handling of steering wheel a big issue?

We chose Belhasa because of its high passing rate, but the experience has become quite frustrating. My husband failed the parking test three times. During the first attempt, he had no mistakes, but they still failed him. When he requested to review the video footage to understand the error, they refused to provide it. He eventually passed on his third attempt.

Now, he is facing the same issue with the road test. He failed the first attempt, and during the second attempt, despite driving well without any clear mistakes, they claimed he failed due to “wrong handling of the steering wheel.” This is becoming too much and feels unfair.

Today i received my driving license and thought of writing a review about my experience i had during my journey at Belhasa.
I registered with them during the last week of january and requested for my classes from the Karama centre. I had to wait for a several days for the classes to begin as slots were limited. All the customer service i received from the karama branch were really supportive and informative. They booked my classes as soon as there were available slots. So it took less days than i anticipated. My first instructor was Mr Arif Ibrahim. I had a very smooth start with the basics and the instructor was in other words “fit for the job”. I built my trust and confidence in him and learned all the basic knowledge i needed for the road. My journey continued with him until he went for vacation and my instructor changed. My second instructor was Mr Aftab sajid. At first, i didnt like it because i was used to my first instructor. But during the first lesson itself i felt really comfortable and the instructor was able to understand the points i needed to focus on. Both the instructors were really helpful and really knowledgeable. I had night classes with them. I would recommend them to any girl who is unable to take day classes but worried about having male instructors. Both my instructors were really professional and they never made me feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Thanks to them i passed my yard/parking test in my first attempt and my road test in my 2nd attempt. I am really grateful for both of them for sharing their knowledge with me and giving very useful tips. And all the staffs from belhasa. Who has greeted me with smiles in every visit.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Belhasa Driving School

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service and experience I have had at your driving school. After a year of attending your classes, I still cannot pass the driving exam, and the reasons are directly tied to the poor quality of instruction and service I have received.

Firstly, the instructors lack fundamental teaching skills. Their English proficiency is inadequate, making it very difficult to understand instructions clearly. Furthermore, some of them seem unqualified and unable to teach the necessary skills for safe and competent driving.

Secondly, the school’s policies are unfair and show no regard for student circumstances. For instance, when I was unwell, I attempted to cancel my class. However, because your team was on holiday, I was unable to inform you within the required 48-hour window. Despite this, I was still penalized and charged for the class—something that felt entirely unreasonable given the circumstances.

Additionally, the school is not supportive or accommodating in any way. Everything seems geared towards extracting more money rather than providing genuine assistance to help students succeed. The lack of professionalism and rude behavior from your staff further compounds the frustration.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had with any service provider. I want to make it clear that I will never, ever recommend your school to anyone. I am part of a very large community, and I will make sure that everyone is informed how unprofessional,useless, rude your school is and that nobody will attend this scam.

It took a total of 3 months from registration to obtain my license, and the process in registering and booking for classes and tests was very smooth and efficient. I initially started my classes with another instructor but after a few classes I realised we werent compatible. Very very bad institue worth examiner both internal and RTA

Very very bad institute not customer oriented very poor management and very very bad behavior of examiners both ladies and gents specially ladies of both internal and RTA examiners .
I would not suggest anyone even if it is last institute in whole UAE
Better go to UK or USA get driving there and drive here .
This is the worst driving institute I have ever seen with less common sense of talking and examiners always makes students depress and afraid from their rude behavior.

Driving Experience

Overall terrible driving institute, truly do not recommend this place. Firstly, my instructor Kirishnaveni Ravichandran was extremely rude and harsh, always yelling at me, not calm at all and made me tear up multiple times, it made me absolutely hate driving, truly, and dread each lesson. Also her teaching was fine, just sometimes she would yell to speed up or would not be helpful at all when asked questions, and instead of helping, would just get mad, so it was scary to ask her questions. Then I also had instructor Chitra Dassani who was not as bad as my first instructor, but still quite rude and harsh, and would genuinely say things like ‘I will kill you if you look at the speedometer again’ or ‘i will kill you if you don’t turn in my technique’. It was not said in a sarcastic or joking manner, she was very serious and it made me nervous of her. I had a third instructor who honestly was the best one, she was nice but firm in pointing out mistakes which I appreciated, because you can firmly point out mistakes without being hostile or rude to me. This instructor is Juliet Paulino Bayoneto and she honestly taught me very well, showed me the routes for the tests, taught me all the ins and outs of the driving test to make sure i was fully prepared which i cannot say at all for the other two instructors i had. Truly the instructor you have can completely change your driving experience, I truly struggled for a long time with instructor Kirishnaveni, please I hope no one continues to have her. I am not writing this review to be malicious, I just genuinely want to prevent other girls from having the same awful experience as me.
Additionally, the staff are not very organised in general at the organisation. For example, the front desk really not super helpful, also once i finally passed my final road test, I needed to get license renewal and had to wait 30 minutes extra because the staff was late to work. This is really unprofessional behaviour and should be looked at.

Incompetent, horrible administrative and organization. Unable to resolve issues they create with cancelling appointments themselves then rescheduling without notifying then marking student absent. Team unable to resolve their own mistakes leading to loss of time from work for both adults in our household trying to assist our daughter. They give you price to do driving lisence at the end you pay a different price, instructors are old and they give appointments for more than 1 client at the same time, and then they need to cancel for one, customer service is very bad as if they are not working in dubai. 1 hour just to change something simple in the file . Rta examiners are not accurate in their results

I have failed for the 5th time with one or two minor mistake while the policy is saying 13 minor mistake leads to fail . The results they give are not accurate . It always has extra add ons from the examiners . The last examiner was so disappointing .she gives break two times while coming out from the parking at start for no valid reason . Female examiners always interfere to end up the test at the very beginning . She comment with negative points inside the test itself not waiting to see what I am going to do . Horrible experience that waste your time and money . Save your money for transportation guys much better. I have spent more than what i can pay for taxies whole year.

Had an easy and fun training experience to obtain my license on the 2nd try under Milly’s training. All our sessions were very insightful and she helped me feel stress-free at all time!! Got great advice free of any sugarcoating which I really appreciate since being on the road with other drivers is not an easy task and you should reflect well on all the feedback given to you, whether good or bad. My experience as a Belhassa customer

I had an amazing experience with Belhassa Nad al Hamar. I started my journey on September 2 and I got my Liscence on October 24. All the credit goes to 2 people, one is my trainer Ms.Milly mam who worked hard to improve my driving skills,build up my confidence level, and prepared me to face the exam. It was with her careful and attentive teaching that I was able to pass my RTA road test on the very first try and obtain my license in one and a half month. Second one I want to thank is Ms.Shabaana mam who guided and supported me through the entire process with her extensive experience and foresight. These two people will always remain in my heart. firstly, many of the workers are very stupid, you have to go three times just to ask them to change your tariff or plan to something else, when you go and want to register, they send you from one location to another, they don’t even want to do the easy work themselves overall everything was very bad !

When I came to Ms Flavia Gonsalvez at Belhasa Driving Institute (Al Wasl) in August, it was with the extremely ambitious desire to complete the driving course in under a month so that I could receive a driver’s license before leaving for university. Although this was a very tall order, I chose to trust Ms Flavia and I am exceptionally glad I did because it was with her careful and attentive teaching that I was able to pass my RTA parking and RTA road test on the very first try and obtain my license in under a month.

A common concern new learners have is that many driving institutions are trying to exploit young learners for monetary gain. While I can’t say how justified or unjustified this concern is for all institutions or instructors, I can confidently say that if you take up driving under the tutelage of Ms Flavia, you are sure to receive an education that is extremely comprehensive, efficient and truly with your best interest at heart. She is an instructor who will treat you with respect, give her full attention and effort and provide you with the best resources she can to ensure you have all the tools you need to pass as quickly as possible. The day I passed my RTA Road Test (on the first try), four other student taught by her passed their tests on their first try as well – a testament to her skill and quality as a driving instructor.

I recommend her teaching whole-heartedly and am confident that any student under her instruction will be sure to receive the same dedicated teaching as me. Ms Flavia even helped me plan my test dates strategically to avoid having to schedule extra classes which ultimately allowed me to complete my driving course in as short a time as I did. Her dedication extended to drawing me diagrams in my notebook and handwriting notes to help me study in my own time to prepare for classes and tests which is something that I have never before heard an instructor do but helped me stay confident and calm before appearing for assessments.

If you are looking to complete a driving course with any instructor, I would whole-heartedly encourage you to take up this learning under Ms Flavia as her experience, kindness and genuine desire to help you succeed are qualities you will learn to value immensely when you begin learning to drive. Bad experience

This is my personal experience,
After making the final payment for RTA test and extra classes and visited the Al Wasel branch for the class booking, as per my accounts with them AED 425 is due for the driving licence, which can also pay later. They hesitated to book my class and road test bcs of the payment. According to them its a policy made by RTA. Everyone knows that how much they charges for the classes compare with other driving school.. It may be business of course.. But people like me with lesser salary expecting little more mercy from you people. Good luck belhasa.

VIP Driving Lessons

If ever you’re in Dubai and you need to take some driving lessons so that you can obtain a driving license in the UAE, Belhasa Driving Center should be your go-to choice!

I availed of the VIP Business package at Belhasa, where I was able to drive a comfortable luxury sedan (Mercedes saloon-type car). With the VIP Business package, you don’t have to go to the Belhasa center to start your lessons, your driving instructor will pick you up from your home/office and you can start your lessons from there, which makes this particular package extremely convenient. My driving instructor, Ali, was patient in helping me adjust my driving skills to driving here in Dubai, staying safe, and obeying all road rules/avoiding black points and fines. He was able to show me some useful tips when it comes to the more difficult aspects of driving in the UAE, such as parallel parking and navigating large roundabouts.

Overall, I’d recommend the services Belhasa has to offer for both new and experienced drivings seeking to either gain a new UAE license or convert their home country’s license to a UAE one.

If you do avail of Belhasa’s VIP Business package, be sure to look for Ali!!! He’s super helpful and a great motivator if ever you feel unsure about your driving skills/competence.
