Refund pending

It’s been 2 weeks, I’m back in the UK and until now I have not gotten my refund from them? I keep emailing them but still no respond from customer service.

Customer service making us wait for such a long time to get our car and when they said it was ready it was not even the right car. I reserved an SUV but they gave a sedan.

Racism and unknowledgable

I arrived on time to pick up the car i odered 2 months prior.. i gave the man at AVIS JBR Sadaf 7 desk an expired EID by mistake… when i tried to give him my valid Australian passport and licence he told me i cant use them as i am a resident of UAE.. he was the one that pointed out it had expired 6 months prior… i was arguing and showing my confirmation email saying i have to provide a valid passport and licence OR a local licence… i couldnt understand why he was saying i need a UAE drivers licence which was impossible to get as im not a resident.. just a tourist… he then called me a “stupid white man”…. i informed customer service about this who gave a generic response about taking it seriously and then stopped replying to my emails…. there is no room for racism in this world and AVIS as a company is disgusting for allowing this to happen with no consequences

No refund

Stay away from AVIS UAE. They cashed my money from a prepaid reservation made with my Debit Card, but they refused to deliver me the car claiming that this card is DEBIT and not CREDIT.
I am renting all over the world with my DEBIT CARD as I always purchase full insurance with no deductible. Additionally the rental car takes a pre-authorisation for a deposit. AVIS is unable to do so, but they are the only ones as I got my rental car from an AVIS competitor in 10 minutes and without any problem.
The bigger problem is that AVIS refused to refund the money! This is in fact close to fraudulent operations! I was a loyal AVIS client all over the world, but AVIS for me is over, never again!!!

Downgrade my reservation from standard SUV car for 7 passenger to small Sedan car

I reserved a standard SUV for 7 passengers. Two hours before the pickup time, AVIS sent me a message saying my car wasn’t available. At the reservation desk, they tried to downgrade my reservation to a sedan or small SUV, which wouldn’t accommodate my family. Upset, I asked to see the available cars. In the parking lot, I found our reserved car, a Toyota Fortuner, but the available cars were too small. When I returned to the desk and showed them a photo of the car with their logo, they struggled, claiming it was reserved for another agent. They disrespected our reservation, and my wife and children had to wait a long time to find another car at a higher price. Expedia didn’t assist in resolving the issue or securing compensation. I’m very upset with this experience. However, I must appreciate the agent at Thirsty rental car who, upon hearing our situation and seeing the children, did her best to offer us a discount and make an exception for us.

Do you enjoy the thrill of being provided a car that hasn’t been checked over for faults and issues. Ever wanted to pay top dollar rental prices for a car that still has coffee stains and snot rags from the previous customer? Do you feel good customer service is a waste of time? Then Avis is the rental car company for you!

Never have I been so disappointed in myself to assume that such a big name in the rental car market would provide exceptional service across the world. It seems the one in Dubai makes up it’s own rules and now I’m locked in for a year long contract with a company that just doesn’t care to provide a good service or offer its customers safety and piece of mind.
