Subject: Important Warning about American Hospital in Dubai

I am writing this message to bring your attention to a serious issue concerning the American Hospital in Dubai. It has come to my knowledge that the administration at the hospital is exhibiting a highly hostile attitude towards its employees, engaging in abusive behavior and mistreatment.

Once hired, individuals are subjected to baseless accusations and are unfairly terminated without any prior notice. This unjust treatment is not limited to the staff; patients have also been victims of financial exploitation, particularly by a physician named Tarek Dufan.

It is imperative that we raise awareness about these distressing practices and ensure that everyone is well-informed before considering any interaction with the American Hospital in Dubai. The administration’s behavior and the actions of individuals like Tarek Dufan are detrimental to both the well-being of employees and the trust patients place in the healthcare system.

I’m very sorry to hear about this concerning situation. It’s crucial to report such misconduct.
“Regrettably, Dr. Dufan has engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with several female employees. One of them has retained text messages as evidence, while another has taken a photo of him in his office in compromising attire. We intend to report this physician to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and will submit all relevant documents as evidence.”

Also, In a shocking incident reported by an eyewitness, Mr. Sheriff Beshara, it has come to light that an individual brought the iT device to his house with the intent of gaining unauthorized access to a computer using multiple logins to inflict harm on someone. Subsequently, the perpetrator deceitfully requested a meeting with either a physician or an employee, pretending to act on their behalf, and then excused himself/herself under the guise of needing to open the computer and search for specific files.

I urge you to exercise caution and spread this message to your colleagues, friends, and family members who may be seeking medical services in Dubai. It is essential that we protect ourselves and others from the potential harm caused by such unethical practices.

Together, we can make a difference and foster a safer and more transparent healthcare environment for everyone.

Copy of all the documents to support my words will be sent to DHA and authorities to take actions

Inconsistent service

I had very poor experience with American hospital clinic. I went to Dubai hills branch with severe neck pain and visited doctor then she advised me to take physio sessions. Nurse told me that they applied for medical approval and shall get back to me ASAP. One week no call I suffered pain. I have to everyday call customer service number and ask to connect to the clinic ad they don’t have any direct contact number with clinic ( which they should have in case of emergency and hospital services) every time I called 800 number and explained my whole story. Finally when I got approval sms then also no one contacted from the clinic it is me only being a patient in pain have to call for physio therapist appointment but she was going on leave for 2 weeks. Then hospital don’t have any back up plan. I really had very bad experience 😕

I was sick i asked the doctor that i can pay for my ultra sound as he asked first for ultrasound .
Then he said that he want ct-scan ,
After that I received a call saying that i can process with my ct scan .
I reached the radiology section they asked me for 10% coupon payment as my insurance approved .
I payed 10% which is 423 AED .
After I finished my ct scan they asked me to go back to cashier and they informed me that i have to make the full payment which is another 3811 AED .
I had no other choice, as if they informed me before i will not do they ct scan at all , but they didn’t inform me that my insurance didn’t approve.

I wanted to do reclaim from my insurance , then my insurance said that i should start with a ultrasound sound then do the ct scan for the insurance to approve .
And they said this is how it should be done as if I didn’t do the ultrasound before the ct scan the insurance will not cover and my reclaim is rejected and i put all the blame on the hospital.

1st they should inform me the price of ct scan and inform that insurance didn’t cover before i enter and put serum in my body and put my body under radio .
But what they did they made me pay 10% and then after I finished my ct scan they asked for the rest of the payment.

POOR SYSTEM

I am writing to raise my concerns regarding the medication for my sugar with a high dosage. Please refer to the attached screenshots of my results.

I am a diabetic patient in the Philippines I have maintained Jardiance Duo 12.5mg/500mg.

I am just 3 months in the UAE and happened to finish my medication maintenance here, so I decided to choose American Hospital as I believe it’s the best hospital in UAE.

I had a consultation with Dr.Gita Majdi way back on 31 October 2021. Due to my very high sugar at that time, I understand that she needs to prescribe a dose medicine of Synjardy 12.5mg/1000mg. I have taken the said medication for a week now but it seems that my sugar level is responding.

I experienced Hypoglycemia and fell with extreme Dizziness and Short Breathing. I lost my vision and collapsed.

Sunday, 6 November @ 6PM – random sugar was 60

Monday, 7 November @ 11AM – random sugar was 65

Thursday, 10 November @ 10AM – random sugar was 58

I asked Dr. Gita Majdi to please change the dosage of my medicine to at least 12.5mg/850mg – but she mentioned that there is no available dosage in the system of American Hospital.

I am asking a good help here to provide me with a Prescription of Synjardy 12.5mg/850mg so I can take this to Life Pharmacy or any applicable Pharmacy outside.

I cannot bear the extreme dizziness and short breathing every time I took the medicine after breakfast. I’ve been making scenes and sickness during working hours, killing me to continue this situation.

Dr. Gita Majdi provide the prescription of Synjardy 12.5/850mg but unfortunately due to the system generated she cannot provide ERx Reference Number because in American Hospital System only shows Synjardy 12.5/1000mg. —

Are there any other best options or what will be the action point to be taken so AHM can help their patients suffering from this? It is very frustrating and devastating how such a huge hospital like AMERICAN HOSPITAL DUBAI.

The manager was very approachable and nice. He often checked in on us and the other patients to make sure we were happy.

Urgent pediatric care admission at the American hospital

I have visited the American hospital pediatric urgent care yesterday at 6:15 pm as my daughter suffered from sudden severe abdominal pain (9/10) that required prompt medical attention. Her medical history necessitates prompt examination of that type of pain. However, she wasn’t able to get examined by the physician on duty until 9 pm. When we were called in, the nurse couldn’t find her file because somebody has removed it by mistake !! Additionally,The room we were admitted to had a stool sample from a previous patient left uncollected!
I asked for an ultrasound and the dr agreed but no ultrasound dr was on duty. A technician had to be called in who has arrived 1 hour later. We were told to pay for the ultrasound however we would not get an official report before next day morning when the ultrasound dr arrives. We left with my daughter still having pain with intensity of 9/10 and the dr saying everything is normal in the ultrasound but he can give some pain medication if there is pain.
We left at 11:00 pm and paid 2500 Aed.
Compared to king’s hospital and Jalila pediatric hospitals emergency care, this is definately the worst in terms of patient care, professionalism and competence

Dr. Rita Sakr review

I had an appointment today with Dr. Rita Sakr for breast screening. The nurse asked me to enter the Dr’s room. When Doctor Rita came in, she literally asked me, who are you? As in who are you, not a hi or hello. I told her my name and she kept calling the nurse as if there is someone who is lost in the room. And then she asked what do I want? (Man am I not in your schedule, as far as i know I booked an appointment)
She asked how old am I and when i told her im 37 she said then why I need to have breast screening? I told her if I want to get my breast check, what procedure should I get into. Shen then asked me to wear a robe. Oh wait not a robe but a piece of linen to just cover my front but her nurse is kind to hand me a robe. Literally like 1 minute after touching my breast she said its okay. But if i want to get an ultrasound she will refer me for my peace of mind.
Well I find this doctor rude and in a rush. Not worth the payment. Definitely not going to her again

I visited American hospital many times and recently in Jan 2022 especially the Emergency care, amazing team, nurses and doctors…excellent experience….the manager was very friendly and approachable, he was always checking on us and on all patients to make sure we are satisfied.
