Dishonest Overpricing

It charged me 30Aed which I can get 1/3 by using taxi. No meter used. Inside smell is bad, I will review also in google.

Overcharging

I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding an incident that took place on the 22nd of May 2025, at approximately 16:10.

While standing in front of The View at The Palm, Palm Jumeirah, we approached a driver who had just dropped off other passengers. We asked if he could take us to Stella Di Mare Hotel, and he immediately agreed. Unfortunately, we did not book this ride through the Uber app, as it was an on-the-spot arrangement.

Once we began the journey, I noticed that the driver did not activate the taximeter. I politely requested him to do so, but he replied by saying, “This is a luxury car,” implying that standard fare practices did not apply.

I checked the Uber app during the ride and saw that the expected fare for this route was approximately AED 35–40. However, upon reaching our destination at 16:39, the driver informed us that the charge was AED 95.55. I expressed my concern about the high fare, noting that we had paid a similar amount for a ride from the airport, which is a much longer distance.

Only after I insisted did the driver provide a receipt, which I have attached to this email along with a photo of the car for your reference.

I believe this was a case of overcharging and possibly misuse of Uber’s name or services. I kindly request that this matter be investigated and appropriate action taken.

I strongly believe that this car doesn’t even belong to the uber license.

I have pictures of the car that I can provide as we have reported the issue in the RTA.

Airport Transfer

Took our bags off us as we exited customs, I asked what the charge would be to our hotel and wouldn’t say, only that it would be the same as other airport taxis. I as asked again in the car and he said it was 400 aed for a 12km, 15 minute journey to our hotel. I said it was too much and started to get out of the car he insisted it was a standard price.

On talking to our hotel staff they told me I’d been conned and completely over charged.

5 times taxi price from Dubai mall to Palm

Skyrocketing price for a journey from Dubai Mall to the Palm: 315 aed (I paid 90aed with careem cars and 65aed with a standard taxi).
The driver tried to charge an extra 35aed for credit card fee😖
Very disappointed and felt swindled.
I don’t recommend this company at all.
