Avoid Al Wathba Insurance at All Costs – Claim Number: 40/9018/90/2025/3519

Accident on 5 Nov 2024, all documents submitted by 6 Dec, and court order submitted on 15 Apr 2025. Despite that, AWNIC took 15 full days just to approve the claim and then blamed delays on spare parts — which were actually available. I waited almost 40 days after the court order with zero updates, and had to chase the garage myself.

Their rep even falsely claimed I accepted a worthless compensation offer of AED 100/day for 15 days, while I paid AED 130/day for over a month. No accountability, no transparency, and extremely poor service.

Avoid this company at all costs. I’m escalating this scam to the UAE Insurance Authority and Central Bank.

Extremely Disappointing – Claim Number: 40/9018/90/2025/3519

My experience with Al Wathba Insurance (AWNIC) has been frustrating and disappointing from the start.

They took 15 full calendar days just to approve my insurance claim — despite the Unified Motor Policy in the UAE clearly requiring much faster processing. That delay alone set everything back significantly.

After that, I was left without any updates for 2 weeks. Every time I called customer service, they just repeated the car was “under repair” — but didn’t tell me that the spare parts weren’t even available. I only found out by calling the garage myself, which is not my job. This shows a complete lack of coordination and transparency.

Despite all this, they offered me a pathetic AED 100/day for only 15 days as a rental allowance — while I had to pay AED 130/day out of my own pocket for much longer, just because of their delays.

To make things worse, one of their staff members misrepresented facts in the internal notes, claiming I accepted their low compensation — which is totally false.

I will be escalating this to the UAE Central Bank, Sanadak, and the Insurance Authority, and I will be sharing this experience across all review platforms to warn others.

Believe it or not, although no one informed me in advance, they refused to send a recovery to pick up my car, that had an engine problem, from Musaffah because if it is in Musaffah, it shall be already in a garage!!

Its over a 2 months now with no response. Need to file in a consumer complaint.

I’d like to add some comments to my previous review as after my negative feedback the company contacted me, namely Mr. Belal Elsayed Team Leader called me and solved my issue very, very quickly. He was very polite, professional and helpful. He does his job perfect, my respect to him and many thanks. I wish every one in the company would work like Mr. Belal and respect the customers.

They take your money – that’s all they can do for you!

If I could give zero star rating I would do it. They don’t work at all or just intentionally don’t work the money for insurance. First, when I applied with a claim form for accident repair on their site I got an answer that my claim rejected though all documents were downloaded. My husband and I tried to contact them sending a lot of e-mail messages and calling them all phone numbers given on the site and in insurance paper. Failed. Second, since 2 days I got an e-mail message that I had to send them again almost all documents provided in the claim before. With great difficulty they confirmed the claim and then again – SILENCE. We tried to contact them again. In a day we got an answer that we have to choose a place of repair (Abu Dhabi, Al Ain or Dubai) though my vehicle was insured in RAK moreover I have to pay for transportation of my vehicle. There was no given any information about who, when would transport the vehicle, how long (approximately) it would be repaired, etc but it was given a remark that insurance repair they provide only once.
I could write more, but my indignation of this fraudulent insurance company would make a long message.
Conclusion, they stall for time and don’t want to perform their duties. Shame!

Hi since my company has one Car with Al wathba insurance I just. Tried with them and now I felt this is the biggest mistake Inhave ever did
I have met accident on 04.11.21 and today is 11.11.2021 until now my claim has not approved and AGCars not received approval for the quotation and to proceed with work and secondly they are not keeping their words right and always changing and till today no replacement. Car available and they can only refund very small amount which we are paying outside for a car rental

Who ever looking for taking Insurance should not go with. al Wathba and I don’t want any one to be in trap by taking this insurance

Most unprofessional

This is the worst insurer I have ever been with in my 10 years in dubai. The call center number never works and no one replies to your query. Basically paying for service that I will not receive this only displays poor poor business ethics.
