unauthorized deduction on your card – be aware of this company

This company may advertise very low rental prices, but be cautious. After you return the car, they may claim you are responsible for damages or missing items that were not caused by you. In my experience, they attempted to charge me for issues that were not present when I returned the vehicle.

I was also surprised to find a large charge deducted from my card after the rental had already ended and without my authorization. I am concerned about how they were able to process the payment.

I strongly recommend taking detailed photos and videos of the vehicle before and after your rental, keeping all documentation, and carefully reviewing any charges made to your payment method. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this company.
Based on my experience, I believe the relevant consumer protection authorities should look into this company’s business practices. I experienced unexpected charges after returning the vehicle and dispute the reasons given for those charges. This experience has raised serious concerns for me.

I encourage anyone renting from this company to carefully inspect the vehicle, take clear photos and videos before and after the rental, keep copies of all documents, and monitor their payment statements closely.

Wrong charges applied after 7 months

I am sharing my experience regarding a recent rental dispute.

I rented a vehicle from Al Emad Car Rental and returned it in June 2025. At the time of return, no damage was recorded in my presence and no return inspection report indicating windshield damage was signed by me.

Approximately seven months later (February 2026), I was charged AED 2,115.75 on my credit card for a small windshield chip. I requested a signed return inspection report and timestamped documentation confirming that the damage existed at the time of handover, but no such signed return document was provided to me.

The matter has since been raised through formal dispute channels and is currently under review.

I would strongly advise customers to ensure that a detailed vehicle inspection is conducted at the time of return and that a signed handover report is obtained before leaving the premises.

If I could give less than one star, I would. This is the worst car rental company I have ever rented from.
Customer service is extremely poor. They do not answer calls, and messages are only replied to after many days. When you return the car, they look for any excuse to charge you for damages.
What is most alarming is that they keep your credit card details and deduct money without your permission. Don’t trust “no hidden charges” on their website, they charged me an extra AED 300 one month after the rental ended.
Do not trust what they advertise. I strongly advise everyone not to rent from this company.

They refuse to return my deposit
Not only the service is really bad, but they just didnt refund my deposit saying I never gave a deposit.
The day i went for the car, i paid by card but the Filipino lady in the JLT branch asked me for 1000 aed cash as deposit
I went to he bank and witthrow the money and i thought she put the proof of payment in the envelope she gave me with the car rental invoice, but there was not such a thing,
When i returned the car, i request for the deposit and they said i didnt pay any deposit.
They refused to see the video records, and they didnt allow me to talk to the filipino lady that took my money.
They blocked me so i cannot contact them.
It is incredible how they can operate and just take the money like this.

Warning against renting from Al Emad Car Rental

I would not recommend renting from Al Emad Car Rental. Cars are defective and they will take several hours to try to fix the car instead of replacing it. Very bad experience with them.

Worst Car Rental

Terrible experience with this people. First I was handed a car with the wiper broken, so after almost begging to fix it, they decided to change the car for another, which was not inspected by me or by the agent in my presence and there’s was no damage report filed, worst the exchange was done at 8pm on a dark entrance of a parking, so imposible to really notice little scratches or damage. When the rental was over and I returned the car I was told that there was a scratch not reported on the form, and I was need to be charged for it. I told them I didn’t do or got any inspection from the person that handed me the car, but in order no to get in further arguing, I told them I had paid for the full insurance cover so that wouldn’t be a problem. But then they say to me that it’s going to cost me the same as if a pay the damage since I would need a police report for the damage and the cost was the same. So basically “instead of paying them, just pay us that and it’s gonna be the same”.

Not enough with all this shit, I receive an invoice charging me for fuel because I had returned the car with less fuel than with what I received it, which of courses it’s a total lie. By the way, when I made the exchange for the broken car, they were trying to charge me for the spare tire on that car.

Main problem here is not the scratch, the tire, or the full insurance cover, but the way this people treat their clients. On from what I’ve seen in the internet all the reviews they have are the same, and they simply don’t care and won’t care unt somebody do something about it.

Unacceptable service, not recommended

Customer service was horrible at Al Emad JLT. The car smelled awful and was so disgusting on the inside with seats, floors and roof covered in dark liquid. The front left tire had a leak so we kept having to get air, which was not solving the case. I took pictures of the car so the evidence is available and was shown to the staff, which ignored us. Deposit is not returned till this day. Terrible experience.

Absolute scam

I would like to report Al Emad JLT car rental company as a scam and fraud company. Yesterday my bank card was charged AED 2,472 without my consent or knowledge.

I have demanded an immediate explanation and received an information that a paint job is required at the front bumper. I have faced arrogant and extremely rude behaviour from Shamid in customer service handling the case. The replies were incompetent and then messages got completely ignored.

In the meantime I have received two separate quotes one from a car garage and one from a different car rental company that the stated damage would cost from AED 250-300 only with everyone shocked at the amount they took from me.

I have received the car in a horrible state, with multiple damages, technical issues, stains and dirt. I have full conversation and photograph documentation available.

This is not the first time I am facing neglect and scam attempt with this company. The initial car they gave me had a tier pressure issue and they tried to force me to drive it on the road even though it was not save and endangered my well-being and the road safety regulations.

I would like to bring immediate attention to Al Emad unlawful practices and money stealing attempts. They provide faulty cars with multiple technical issues and ignore complains. They will charge the clients triple for made up damages and reasons.

I have now reported this to Dubai Police and opened a case with Dubai Economic Development and Consumer Rights. After informing Al Emad about this they replied “ Sure they will be contacting our legal team”.

*I have contacted the below number, however I was ignored and treated like a clown yet again. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Al Emad employee dedication – 24h after my negative review 10 fake positive ones miraculously appeared as a cover up, well done.

I rented a car for 5 days from 16.02.2022. License plate dxb-85027-N.
They said they will block some money for the car and unblocked them after. They take my money from my card without my accept not blocked (fraudulent tehnique) and when they gave me back i lost at conversions currency 22 euro.
